Down To Earth 6-Pound Oyster Shell Flour

I ordered this to use in my worm bin and it works nicely. There is a good quantity for the price and it lasts a long time. The texture is great - very fine so the worms can easily consume it. The only issue is the bag it comes in inside the box which is very thin and easy to rip. I definitely recommend transferring it to an alternative container as soon as it arrives. Overall, this is perfect for worm bins and I definitely recommend it.

I love Down To Earth Products. I usually by Langbeinite, Azomite, Blood Meal, Fish Bone Meal, and Oyster Shell at the same time. This covers my N-P-K trace minerals and calcium. I add a little of each to my batches of compost. All of my vegetables are doing amazing. They are very healthy plants. The Down To Earth products are just good quality and reasonably priced.

good product, worms seems to love it. helps keep the PH more basic and provides lots of grits for them. I would buy again along with some of their other fertilizers. I saw they have a crab shell flour I'm sure my worms would love. the product is bagged inside of a USPS box and I found some of the product to come out of the bag so it may be best to transfer to a secondary more secure container. wear a mask or cover your face when applying this product as it is very light and can become airborne.

Great organic product for your supersoil recipe! Add calcium while balancing the soil PH all with the natural power of oysters! I live on the coast where oysters are harvested year-round and this product saves me the time and trouble of collecting discarded shells, sanitizing them with heat, then pulverizing them, why bother Down To Earth already did!

I raise earthworms. Trying to keep eggs, clean them, save them up has been a challenging task for me. I came across this product (crushed oyster shells) in a youtube video months ago while looking for a dry recipe. I came on here (amazon) looking for the product and came across this (actual brand) while scrolling. Had great reviews and I already had a trust in it from the video I saw. When I opened the box the bag was in there a little weird so I laid it on its side and slowly slid it out just in case the bad was not sealed. As I said, it looked folded or something. I did not want shell powder everywhere in the kitchen. Thankfully all was good, the bag was well sealed, just a bit baggy and placed in there where the plastic folded on itself. There is still a small amount of shell dust, so be aware of that (to be expected, it's crushed shell). I created my recipe, added to to the worm beds, and the next morning, much of the food was gone and they were going crazy over it :) I am very happy that this product is available, and we are still keeping our egg shells for the garden. It's a win win :)

So I bought this to add to my worm bin and garden. (Mostly my worm bin) So after 2 weeks of using this in my worm bin. You can see more worms in other spots you normally don't see them. As in they're all over everything instead of just by the food. I'm using this in replace of "rock dust" and going great so far. Did also add this to my garden and the only thing i can tell different is that there is alot more little worms in the Top soil. I do believe this product is why my strawberry in my garden are still alive. Ive always lost them in the past but for some reason they're growing now. Cant forsure say its this but Im truly believe it is. Will buy again. Highly recommend. *Big bag *bag that it comes in is very weak and you should put in a ziplock bag ASAP before it breaks or you get water in it.

Perfect calcium supplement for my coturnix quail, it is ground pretty fine, small pieces and dust. I always had to ground oyster shells made for chicken, no more since I found this. My quail go crazy for this. Anyone saying they would not feed it to their poultry since it's labeled as a fertilizer are confused, it's the same stuff (100% ground oyster shells) as the ones labeled for chicken consumption, the only difference is the label and the fact that its finely ground. Yes, it can be used as a fertilizer as well, so can the stuff made for chickens too.

packaging was not so great when i seen the box destroyed on the porch i though for sure the bag was damaged but that was not the case .the product was still safe in its bag . finely ground oystershells my chickens love it.

The product itself is awesome. It's a top notch product line. The shipping is atrocious. You'd think with a high american dollar shipping to canada would be way cheaper.
