Very good, rugged, little radio
The TERA TR-505 was ideal for my needs, a rugged, affordable, UHF GMRS used as a tactical communication option for my family. The main drawback for me is the mic/speaker output cover. It doesn't stow well when you have a speaker/mic (s/m) actually hooked up. The voice notification feature that alerts to a new channel allows you to cycle through even if the radio channel knob is not available to see, i,e, in a pouch. You need to have a programming cable with software that can be downloaded. Around the house this radio works great. Will test longer range in the near future. I have this hooked up to a MSA Sordin headset via an aux cable from the s/m.

I'm pretty impressed with these radios
As someone who has used the big brand radios for ages, I'm pretty impressed with these radios. So far they seem to be well made professional quality radios, at just a bit more than a hobbiest price. Far better than any bubble pack radios you can find. Having the MURS option is a nice feature too. It's an under utilized band in many areas. In my area, I have scanned it for days and never hear a transmission. I've had these for a couple months and haven't thoroughly tested these yet in detail, but so far they seem to work great. Seem to be durable and well designed.

Great little radio for the price
This radio costs a little more than some of the competition, but it performs better than almost any other "cheap" radio I currently own (and also my $500+ Garmin Rino, but that has GPS and maps). I live in a concrete building in a very rural area, this and my Baofeng UV-82HP are the only handheld radios that I can listen to indoors. I can clearly hear local GMRS, MURS and even ham repeater traffic without having to step outside into triple digit heat. It seems to be built pretty solid, I don't feel like it would break if I dropped it.

Great radios
They have great range! We use them in the field for our farming operation. Huge upgrade over the old CB radios we used. Added the CB style mics and it makes them that much easier to use in the tractors and combine.

Radio stopped receiving
Radioes worked extremely well for about three days, then one of the radios would stop receiving, unless the transmitting radio was keyed up for 10 about seconds. I believe, but have no proof, that the sub tone stopped working or was very slow to engage... I returned them and will looking at Motorola.

Well made and durable radios
Compared to the crap that Motorola makes, these little rigs are in a class of their own. The lithium batteries allows them to last longer, the TERA programming software is easy to use, and better whip antennas are available for those that need them.
