Made in Abyss Vol. 5 Paperback – 1 Mar. 2019

This series is famous for going to dark places, and this volume goes further in that direction than any other in the series so far, without ever reaching the point where it feels like hope is impossible or the adventure isn't worth having. Tsukushi's ability to keep his characters charming and his world beautiful despite the harsh realities our heroes face is one of a kind, and allows the darker moments in the story to mean something. The art is as good as ever and the new concepts presented are fascinating. Definitely worthwhile.

I'm loving the story but it keeps getting sadder as it goes, that Sovereign of Dawn guy is a heartless b*****d I'm glad he gets his butt kicked
