Key for Lightning To Usb Cable for Apple Devices

I want to start off by saying I love the idea of this product and I'm grateful companies like Nomad are trying to come up with clever solutions like this.While this is a brilliant concept that I was really excited to try, I have to say this device just has a hard time standing up to the wear and tear experienced by a typical set of keys throughout the day.Not long after receiving my Nomadkey, the plastic casing surrounding the USB side split apart, exposing the USB connector. Although the Nomadkey still worked fine, I contacted support and they immediately sent me a "redesigned" Nomadkey that did indeed have a slightly different design to the plastic casing.Unfortunately, that Nomadkey only lasted a couple weeks before it suddenly stopped charging my iPhone. Although it showed no external signs of damage, one day my iPhone gave the "accessory not supported" warning and the next day it just didn't recognize it at all.I ended up going back to the case-less Nomadkey, which worked for a couple months, but eventually it too stopped charging my phone.Nomad support is great and I'll bet if I asked for another replacement they'd even send one along for free, but I guess I don't see the point if I'm just going to have to replace it every couple months. Since I also have a USB drive on my key ring that hasn't given me any problems, I have to assume the Nomadkey's flaw is in its flexible cable - again, a really good idea, but one that just doesn't seem to cut it in the real world. Ah, well.

I previously owned the original NomadKey. The original lasted maybe a month before it gave out. I was hesitant on buying a another one so I waited some time, as well as reading other reviews. Upon arrival of the new one, I immediately noticed a difference. The key is thicker, the USB portion is now fully 'covered' and the key loop is thicker than the original. Although the key is slightly thicker and longer, this came as a relief because I felt as though it would stand up to the test of time. Since, I have rigorously tested the NomadKey with great success for the past month. I use the key daily and it stays attached to my keychain.Although the current NomadKey is exactly what I hoped for, it is unfortunate that it took them awhile, as well as a good chunk of my money, to get this right.EDIT 4/2016: My new key lasted just about a year before the lightning cable part popped out of the keychain. Weary about ordering another and spending another $20+. I was hoping that the thicker construction would mean improved durability. Maybe having this on my keychain is too much...

Great Product.I have used this for a few days and truly like it, no more Cables cluttering my desk.Pros: Sturdy, flexible, works with my IPhone 6+ just fine. I like it. Once plugged in and charging , if you get a call/text/post it disengages quickly so you can answer etc... I find I just leave it plugged in, even when I put my Laptop in my bag. Nicely compact.Con's: They need to realize most corporate users have a docking station. It would be nice if it was designed for this, a bit longerI showed this to my co workers, and this was their only negative, but then again, I love the lack of no cable.That said, It works fine on my Laptop Docking Station at work, it keeps the phone out of the way.I love it and would by it again.

I was very disappointed with the quality of the cover of this item. Is not cheap and it lasted in perfect condition like 1 month. I expected it to be prepared for falls etc, as it is a keychain and keychains and keys suffer a lot of scratches, but i didnt think that it would open and split in two after the first time I dropped my keys. However, I taped it with one layer of scotch tape and it has kept working without issues for over 2 years. The charger part is very good, the plastic cover not so much. I give it 4 stars because it does continue working since day 1, but fyi the plastic broke and I had to tape it after the first drop.

Had this product for almost a month now and am very impressed by how flexible it is. I have attached it to multiple batteries to charge my iPad and IPhone and I love the convenience of it always being there when I need it. I attach it to my keys and just take it wherever I go. It was def smaller than I thought it was going to be (like literally the size an actual key hence its name) but it performs so well it doesn't affect my rating. Pretty sure I'll be eventually getting a micro USB one to match it and other products from Nomad cause their products are so well made. And the 2 year warranty if anything happens to it is such a comfort. Hopefully I never have to use it. Thank you Nomad for such a great product.EDIT: Had a slight issue with the product where the plastic around the connector did break from heavy force while it was attached to my key ring (i was at a concert and got slammed into). When i went to use it again the lightning connector part came out in one piece cause the plastic holding it was cracked. BUT i am not changing my rating because I emailed Chloe at Nomad about it and she sent me a NEW one with free shipping in a matter of days! Absolute great company! I'll be placing it in my pocket when i know i am in area where something like this can happen next time. Still love my Nomad Key!

Must-have for on-the-goiphone/ipad charging.30/April/2015 UpdateI'm changing from five stars to one star or if possible no star!I was charging my iPhone 6 with a lipstick sized power bank. I placed the setup on a surface about two feet high from the carpet, it dropped and amazingly the Lightning connector broke off!. I never thought the nomadkey could fail woefully in a drop. I'm so diappointed right now because this is the second nomadkey lightning cable I bought-I lost the first and second broke almost effortlessly.I will not recommend this product to anyone except you are willing to be diappointed like me.

Worked exceptionally well.... for about 6 weeks... then the lightening tip broke off (yeah, just the tip).... Wasn't putting too much pressure on it either... often had it bent in a U shape with a battery under my phone - as shown on the Nomad website.... so a bit of strain, but I wouldn't characterize it as excessive. Maybe it was a bummer unit, or maybe its not yet a durable product... but while it worked, it was great to have.... get it, but be gentle with it I guess...UPDATE: Contacted Nomad, and they replaced my unit, no questions asked and didn't have to send it in... just had to fill out an on-line form and they sent me a brand new one right away... must say, was really impressed with their customer service. Hopefully this one will last....

Neat little cable, build quality that you would expect from one of apple's own products. ideal for the pocket, currently connecting my iPhone 5s to a pebble smartstick to charge it back up again. I have also used it to connect my iPhone to my apple supplied charger, works fine in both instances. It also works as a regular usb connection (backing up iTunes) connects to my iPhone 5s with apples leather iPhone case in place, should work with any case that has the same size cut out for their lightning port.

very useful and convenient, never thought how great it is to have this whenever i need it sometimes when i forgot my cord, this is light and good quality, looks exactly like in the photo, would recommend it to anyone its great to charge in the car or anywhere

Super, super, super good. I doubt I'll ever buy a regular length cable again, this is much stronger and easy to carry with me. Highly recommend. I might even buy another one, just so I can brag about it even more.

Really great little device. A cable when I need it - not when I'm carrying my bag or in my car, but more when I'm out and about and all I have is my keys and a computer port on my friend's laptop - and my phone's at 5%. Saved me a few times. Pretty solid construction, flexible. I would recommend buying!
