Windows, Windows, how do I loathe thee? Let me count the ways.
I ordered one of these from Discount 18 and got mostly what I expected. This is my second Dell Latitude E6410. The first one had its screen backlight fail after six months. Not the fault of the seller which was not Discount 18. These laptops are about six years old. The optical drive, as with the other E6410 was annoying and required constantly ejecting it and replugging it to get it to work. Some design engineer at Dell made the horrific goof of placing the eject drive button on the optical drive right next to the eject tray button on the optical drive. Very easy to touch the eject drive button by mistake. The Lenovo Thinkpad T410 uses a sliding lever on the ejectable optical drives which avoids this problem. I got two unexpected upgrades: a backlit keyboard which isn't really all that useful because it stays lit for only ten seconds after touching a key, and an Nvidia 3100M graphics card with 512 MB of video memory. I was planning to install Debian Linux on this machine, and the Nvidia graphics card makes that unwise. The default graphics driver for Nvidia cards in Debian is the "Nouveau" driver which has rather poor performance. So I opted to keep Windows 7 on this machine and use it as a gaming machine. Suddenly, this old $200 laptop is the most powerful gaming machine in my house.Windows, Windows, how do I loathe thee? Let me count the ways. The machine from Discount 18 did not come with a restore disk, so I used an old Windows 7 restore image downloaded from Microsoft's account on Digital River back when it was available. I immediately swapped out the old 250 GB hard drive for a new 1 TB hard drive and used the restore image to install Windows 7 Pro 32-Bit. The install went fine, but when I tried to activate, I got the dreaded message that I would have to use Microsoft's automated phone system to activate this copy of Windows. No! No! No! I did that once back around 2003 to activate a copy of Microsoft Word when I didn't have an internet connection. Very painful experience. I put the original hard drive back in.This machine had the numbers lock set to come on automatically at boot. It took me a lot of mucking around in the Windows Registry to turn off the numbers lock at login for each user. I still haven't found the administrative switch to turn off the numbers lock, so it comes on when I'm at the login screen. I never had any problem with the numbers lock with Debian. Simple toggle switch. On or off.Maybe in a year or two the Nouveau driver won't suck and I can go ahead with my original intention and put Debian on this machine. The Dell Latitude E6410 is fine, but I do I loathe Windows. Microsoft, you stink.

Bought two, first one was for myself, the 2nd for my son six months later, my only regret is the hard drive could be bigger, but that's not a huge stopper and shouldn't prevent you from wanting one as well.

It wasn't good as it advertised
It wasn't good as it advertised. My laptop which recently arrived has a rebooting problem. I have it fixed in the store and it costs me forty nine bucks. It 's only 2.67 Hz not 2.8 and the rest of its information is true.

It has issues since the first moment such as touch pad is not stable, Now I am trying to return it and i didn't hear from seller since more than two weeks, even though I have one year guaranty. I am giving it last chance before filing a legal claim on the seller.
