Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom - Blu-ray + DVD + Digital

When the late Dr. Michael Crichton wrote "Jurassic Park" I doubt that he realized just how big an impact his book and the subsequent movie would have on popular culture. I'm also pretty sure he never anticipated the furious public debates that would surround the release of each new film in what has now become an enduring franchise that is beloved by many and reviled by a few. "Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom" is the latest example of that dichotomy. It is loved by many, reviled by a relative few. Personally, I loved it. I liked the fact that Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard returned to the franchise (though I was a little put off by the conceit that their relationship had ended - guys, that's a way-overdone cliche in sequels. It didn't work well in "Ghostbusters 2" or in any of a dozen other sequels and it doesn't really work well here.) I also liked the introduction of new villains paired with old antagonists (Dr. Henry Wu) and, of course, I loved the dinosaurs. To me, they are always the stars of this franchise's movies. What makes this movie especially interesting to me is the fact I saw it as an allegory for the current debate over climate change and the fate of the planet. The island on which the dinosaurs live is threatened with an extinction-level event and yet there are those who seem unwilling - or unable - to accept that everything must be done to preserve them. The most poignant scene in the move, in my opinion, is the death of a brontosaurus that is left behind on the island when a volcanic eruption spells the end of the dinosaurs' ecosystem. I couldn't help but see that huge animal as a symbol of the millions of men, woman, and children who are likely to die in the coming years from a variety of issues ranging from famine to extreme weather events as a direct result of climate change. Pratt, Howard, Ted Levine (as a particularly nasty villain) and the rest of the cast (including Geraldine Chaplin and James Cromwell) were excellent and while the direction was a little over the top it's important to remember that this is a movie about dinosaurs, after all. Great special effects, a socially relevant message, and fine acting make this a 5-star film.

This movie has it all! The excitement is terrific & it is just as good as the first in this wonderful series. Everyone can watch this movie without worrying someone will be offended. It also is so easy on the eyes for the Male / Female perspective. Good looking people who are pleasant on the eyes with a very well scripted story line. If you like dinosaur movies this is one you must see. There is so many bad movies out there these days, with nothing but killing, gore, battle & horror of the most gruesome kind, this is a movie the family & loved ones can sit & enjoy together. If you are a fan of the Jurassic Park Series this is a must for your collection. I also will advise you to disregard with any negative reviews you might have heard or read. Once you see this great movie I think you will be able to put the pieces together why this movie did not receive the excellent ratings it should have. Buy it & you will not be disappointed! This movie gets a 5 STAR all the way!

EPIC!!!! Blown away by this film, even though I knew some of the setting would take place in rural areas in lieu of dense jungle, which otherwise tends to lame•i•fy Jurassic Park films as it did with The Lost World towards the end (they should have at least split the plot with another one in the jungle--in their natural habitat). Nonetheless it was about as good as the first Jurassic Park film. Some of it reminded me of the TV show Gotham. I would've liked to see more jungle like the first Jurassic World film, and, have the movie be like 3hrs. long or more, I feel like the ending was a little weak with that being said. I was hoping to see way more new dinosaur species, but yet I still maintain that it was as good as the first Jurassic Park or pretty close! Jurassic Park is one of my all-time favorites along with The Matrix, The Lord of the Rings, Transformers 5 and the last few Transformers films, the Guardians of the Galaxy films, Black Panther, the Thor films, & the last few X-Men films--to put things into perspective. The delivery was surprisingly speedy. No complaints regarding which. Great service, great product

Good product and bought so I could keep up with the series.

I love this movie but when I went to play the BLU-RAY portion of my DVD, BLU RAY, and Digital, it did not work. I sent it back to have it replaced. The Blu-Ray portion did not work again. This time I called in rather than deal with continuous returns. The Rep told me one customer said he had the same problem so he fooled with the settings folder and it worked for him. Not sure what tech he played his Blu-Ray in. I use my PS3. Went to settings and updates and everything looked good (no folders). Unplugged and replugged my PS3. Still not work until the 10th time of going in and out completely. It worked and I did not touch anything. I did not watch it completely cause I just did a few days ago on the DVD. I went out and back in~~~wouldn't work. Either the movie making company messed up major on these BLU-Rays OR something went wrong in the post offices via their wands with electronic equipment. Whatever I received a refund this time and I will wait b4 I buy another Blu-Ray of this movie so the problem can be ironed out. Blu-Ray is more fun!! Yikes!! Meanwhile I love the movie and this one was scarier than the first. :)

Disc's packaging was in excellent condition as was the disc when played. While we have been disappointed in the last few entries in this series, Jurassic World was a fantastic surprise. We have monsters and mayhem, but we have skilled actors playing the roles and a plot- yes, a strong suspenseful plot with a few twists in it. The movie left us wanting more and will be a rewatch.

I am unable to write a review as this was a gift. However, judging from the look on my sons face when he received it it is a great success.
