Domo DO9041C Sandwich Toaster, 700 W, White

After many years trying to find a toastie maker without being sliced into triangles....I have finally found the perfect product! Literally could not find one until now. I was very hesitant due to the price and not ever heard of this brand but listen to me, just buy it! You’ll not be disappointed, I can finally have egg or baked bean toasties to bring back nostalgia. I’m even purchasing another one to give to a family member. It toasts the bread very well and to a high temperature. Highly recommended.

I purchased this for one reason only and that's to cook egg toasties which it does very well in just 3mins.This is the second one which was sent as a replacement as the first one was a smoker with smoke coming out rear where the power cable goes in and it smelt of burning plastic so it had to be returned.Note: even this replacement smoked for a short while when first plugged in but it soon stopped unlike the previous one.In use it's quick and simple, just butter the outside of your bread place two pieces in the toaster butter side down wait 30 seconds then push the bread down carefully with your fingers or the back of a spoon to make a compartment for the egg, crack an egg slowly pour it on to the bread, do same for the second side then place two slices butter side up over the eggs and shut the lid down until you hear the latch click, set timer for 3 minutes, unplug the toaster after two and a half as there's enough heat to finish cooking. Another tip is to put your plate on top of the toaster to warm while you're waiting. If you prefer and runny yoke cook for less time. Enjoy.

Been looking for one of these for ages as all the other models Cut the sandwich in half. Found that using toast size bread ideal. I like to spread olive oil over the sides of the bread that lies against the hot plates then using a dessert spoon depress the slice of bread once it is position on the hot plate so as to hold a raw egg in place. (Medium to small eggs best).I would have preferred a slightly larger toaster but this was the only one I could find in the category I was looking for.

I prefer toasties which are flat (i.e. not in triangles) and this one does the job perfectly, with added toasting lines which make it look even better. It heats up quickly, toasts quickly. I like the overall design and the materials used are of good quality. Very happy with it.PS - the standard toastie bread might be a bit too large for it, depending on brand. In that case I either trim the bread, or put it in sideways one toastie at a time.

1. It's too small for uk bread.2. It doesn't have articulated hinges, so when you close the lid it just tries to push your sandwich out.3. It takes an age to heat up... and when I sat an age, I am talking geological timescales. I was excited to have an egg toasties this morning, like I had as a kid.I am on my 3rd cup of coffee... I have just put the sandwich in, but it still wasn't heated up - I have assumed after 25 minutes the thermostat was broken, but on reflection, the bread didn't sizzle as I put it on...I should probable have put a load in the washing machine while I was waiting.Nope, this item is a complete and utter waste of money. I don't think I can return it as I have used it so £35 in the bin.

I found that you can only use thin bread to make a sandwich with this as the lid will not close other wise ,

Very good and easy to use sandwich maker.Although, use some oil for the first round and maybe just use simple break. We had to throw it all away since it had s strange taste and smell. But just the first round. Afterwards it was all perfect. No cheese running out, no sticking parts....Definitely recommend it 😊

Super pour les croque monsieur maison ainsi que pour les tout fait achetés dans le commerce. L'appareil chauffe très rapidement et le nettoyage est rapide.

Wir wollten unbedingt wieder einen Sandwichmaker, der die Sandwiches nicht in der Mitte durchteilt. Unseren letzen haben wir nach etwas über einem Jahr weggeworfen, da die Beschichtung trotz regelmäßiger Pflege hinüber war. War allerdings auch ein Billigprodukt.Nun ist dieser hier zwar auch kein Premiumprodukt und mit ca. 20,- auch recht günstig, bis jetzt sind wir aber sehr zufrieden. Die Beschichtung macht wirklich einen guten Eindruck und ist sehr leicht zu reinigen. Wenn er abgekühlt ist, lassen sich die Essensreste mit Holzschaber oder Schwamm auch ohne Spüli fast rückstandslos entfernen. Vor der Erstbenutzung am besten kurz abwischen und leicht mit Margarine einreiben. Dann bleibt nichts kleben und das Sandwich schmeckt nicht nach Metall.Die Sandwiches sind dann innerhalb weniger Minuten fertig, je nach gewünschtem Bräunungsgrad, und lassen sich leicht von der Platte heben. Kleben tut da nix. Allerdings läuft auch hier ein wenig Käse daneben, der sich aber wie gesagt leicht ablösen lässt. Ich behaupte einfach mal, dass das in der Natur der Sache liegt und auch bei Premium-Modellen nicht besser ist., außer man benutzt einen XL-Sandwichmaker für die großen Toastscheiben und die normal großen Scheibletten. Das wäre allerdings dem Größenverhältnis geschuldet und nicht der Bauweise.Es hält sich aber hier wirklich in Grenzen, sofern man das Sandwich nicht zu lange drin lässt natürlich. Je länger gebacken wird, desto mehr Käse läuft auch daneben.Einen Ein-/Aus Schalter gibt es nicht, der Sandwichmaker legt direkt los, wenn er an die Steckdose angeschlossen wird. Daher auch immer dran denken, ihn wieder abzuziehen, wenn man fertig ist. Eine Abschaltautomatik besitzt er nämlich ebensowenig, was man in dieser Preisklasse aber natürlich auch nicht erwarten kann.Kaufempfehlung von uns, mehr muss man eigentlich für einen Sandwichmaker nicht ausgeben!Update 15.02.2016:Sind nach wie vor total zufrieden! Gerät sieht trotz regelmäßigem Einsatz noch immer aus wie neu, keine Kratzer auf den Platten oder Käse, der in irgendwelche Ritzen läuft und sich dort nicht mehr vernünftig entfernen lässt (wie bei unserem Vorherigen!). Die im Gegensatz zu den typischen Sandwichmakern mit Teiler etwas größeren Platten sowie die Muschelform machen da wirklich einen Unterschied!

Er macht das, was er machen soll und es gibt nichts zu beanstanden. Was will man mehr. Die Sandwiches schmecken gut und entgegen vieler anderer Bewertungen finde ich, dass er sich ausgesprochen gut reinigen lässt. Das wirklich einzige (!) Manko ist die komische Form der Grillflächen. Ich habe noch nirgendwo Toastbrot gesehen, das diese Form hat. Aber wen juckt's. 5 Sterne sind verdient!
