Shoppers Rule The 10 Spool Thread Stand-Grey

I actually haven't used it yet, but took it out of the box, inspected it and started to assemble it. I found out it was a lot larger than I thought. I just don't have the space right now for it. It looks well made and matches my Brother SE400. I recently did a embroidery pattern with a bunch of thread changes and wished I had set it up. I think if you embroider a lot, you will eventually want a thread stand. I did a lot of shopping and found that this one was going to meet my needs. I didn't feel that I needed to the 20 spool thread stand. I rarely do anything more than 10. I will use it to set up the thread in the order I will use it. I do that now, but have to keep changing the thread. With the stand, I should have to only thread the machine. If I am stitching out the design more than once, this will really save me time. I figured to that I could set any additional spools(or larger spools) needed on the table and still run the thread up through one of the thread loops to the machine.

I think I don't really understand how to use this properly as I don't understand what that spring part is for, but I'm using it now in the center of my work space where I have an embroidery machine and a sewing machine back to back. I use half the threads to pull to the sewing machine and half to the embroidery machine and ignore the spring. The stand does help you sort out your embroidery threads for a project, but it's limited to ten spools, so doesn't always completely do the job. It doesn't save you time in threading, like many reviewers said - you still have to completely thread your machine - you just don't have change the spool on the machine, so it saves you like maybe half a second or so. Wish there had been better instructions with it - but since I do use it daily (albeit probably incorrectly) and it works for what I do, I gave it 4 stars.

The previous review on this product, giving it only 1 star, is for the wrong product, a pattern, and should be removed. Reading the description which stated it was a "wholesale bulk cheap discount stand", I wasn't expecting much so I was delighted to discover such a quality product at much less than the competition. This item, the 10 spool thread stand is actually not grey - but all white, the same color as my machine. It is sturdy, came with excellent directions, and extra accessories for using horizontal feeding spools, cones, and thread lubricant. I am used to a thread stand that attached to my previous machine but since there is not one made for my current machine, I was looking for a substitute. This stand sits behind my machine and fits the bill in every way. I might add that the very expensive attached thread stand did not include any of the extra accessories that this one has. I am extremely happy with this purchase and highly recommend it.

I just received this and put it together all went well until i got to the Black helicopter blade looking things and some things that look like thread guides but i have no clue where to put them. Other reviews with pictures do not show these. Otherwise its very sturdy and seems well made. Better instructions are much needed!

Mine was broken a little on the inside when it arrived- I made it work but not terribly happy about that.

I am very disappointed in this product. To start with, the mast at the top was mounted crookedly on the shaft. I should have boxed it back up at that point, but it gets worse. The screw that attaches the shaft to the base is stored in the bottom of the shaft during shipping. Whoever put the screw in there cross threaded it, so it was difficult getting it out, and of course it wouldn't tighten up when attached to the base. It is so wobbly that it is really pretty much junk. Sorry I spent the money on this item. It could have been a really nice deal with quality construction.

I love this stand. It keeps thread sorted for a project and so far the machine likes it as well, no broken threads. It fits right behind my machine but had to remove top cover. Well worth the price, which was much lower than some others I looked at.

This makes using my Singer Futura XL-400 so much more fun! I used to have to babysit my machine to watch for the thread spool to hit a snag on the thread cap. My first solution was to remove the thread cap and only use a thread net. My embroidery was lovely, but I had to sit right there every second to make sure the thread net didn't jump off! :) Other reviews of this particular thread stand were impressive, so I thought I'd give it a try. I love it! I have it parked behind my "Emma" to her right. I can get her started on a design and wander off until she needs a thread change now. This should work fine for any single-needle embroidery machine. I have two Brother girls also, and it would work equally as well with either of them.
