The guide provides a "grip" of network scenarios, however, I perceived the book stood on it own where the reader reads / reviews cisco networking concepts and then answers questions based on what was read. I began answering questions (matching, fill in the blanks) and then couldn't find where any solutions were or determine whether I had answered the questions correctly? If there is another book that works in conjunction with this guide, the author should explain this when you purchase the guide? Thumbing through the book, however, disappointed in the format. Author should be more explicit about the guides uses and where the information that generated the questions in the guide are derived from. There should be a simple and obvious location for solutions to the questions.

I wouldn't consider this to be practice for the icnd1 exam. It's just a series of chapter reviews from the Cisco Networking Academy's "Intro to Routing and Switching" and Routing and Switching Essentials" courses. No labs included. I only purchased this book because it was the latest ccent practice/ study guide published. Don't waste your money.

Official books so better. For me it's not necessary in my kindle, to prepare for the exam.

The book is intended for use with Cisco Networking Academy and does not come with an answer key and is not very helpful as without the classes the book is incomplete. I thought it would be good for labs etc. but again without purchasing the classes don't waist your money on this thing.

Helps a lot to test your knowledge.

Do not buy this book. It has fill in blacks, and match the word to the definitions, but you will never know if made a mistake because there are no answers to the questions.Pretty much it is a waste of money and any 14 year old could copy some text and delete key words.Why is this even being offered as a practice book if you can't see what you did wrong.Thanks to all the editors that made this happen.....PLEASE - stop patting yourselves on the back.

I found the way the the book was formatted in the Kindle app for my iPad mini made it very difficult to use.
