Blue Charm Beacons - Bluetooth BLE iBeacon (BC037S-iBeacon) - Easy to configure w/ free apps for Android and iPhone

Setting up the beacon was super easy with the app (I downloaded it fromthe Play Store according to the instructions on the website). I startedout just using the default settings, so technically I did not even needto use the app. But I thought it would be fun to at least change thebeacon name to something personalized. In the process, I alsosuccessfully modified the UUID with something new and tested differentsettings for the broadcast power and the interval. Everything seems towork smoothly.I was curious how much the broadcast distance would be effected byincreasing the broadcast power. At the highest broadcast setting (+4),the beacon signal could be consistently read by my smartphone from 78yards away, which is longer than the specifications for the productclaimed. I tested this with numerous readings on a nearby high schoolfootball field, so I think this is fairly accurate.For my current application, I actually need a short broadcast distance,so I will adjust the broadcast power to the minimum setting (-28). Butin the future, I might have another project that needs greater distance,and it is nice to know that I have that option and that the beacon can(over)deliver.The setup instructions on the website were very clear and informative aswell. Personally I like to have pictures along with word descriptions,so I appreciated all their screen captures so that I could be sure I wasdoing the right thing step by step.Overall, I'm very satisfied with this beacon and plan to buy four moreright away. For this quality, the price is amazing and the nice littlebox is good to have to protect the beacon as well and to present toclients.

I use this product to locate my cars with Room Assistant for smart home geofencing. It works great and was easy to setup by using the Eddystone app as many online tutorials show. Simply adding the BLE address into room assistant and turning it on and its working flawlessly.Connection quality is great. It has dropped momentarily for a minute maybe a couple times over the last few months but its not going to be perfect

Backed by a great company that supports its product 100%. I have purchased and use five of these and one of the Bluecharm waterproof units for outdoors for a while, and they work perfectly. I use them with my iphone using "Owntracks" and "Geofency" and Home Assistant. Easy to config, reliable, great price and backed up by a company that cares and backs up their product - I mean, common' don't be greedy - where have you seen that lately? <I have no affiliation with this company and have not received anything in exchange for this review.>

Great product, and phenomenal support! Thomas, CEO of Blue Charm Beacons has personally responded to my questions and gave me some very valuable advices and suggestions. I mainly use -23 dBm Tx, and I am satisfied with the signal/RSSI.

They are almost worthless without Eddystone software for most purposes. However they work great for location and other functions. I am still playing with them in attempts to get them to work with a friends mobile billboard service. So far I am afraid my outlook isn't positive because there are too many different so called protocols and the only few that work charge OUTRAGEOUS subscription fees that make it worthless. Peronsally I am a big fan of privacy and hate marketing but my friend needed so help and I tried to help. I knew the potential for abuse of Bluetooth was bad but the things these things could've done with the proper configuration is kind of scary.

I was excited to get this today but the configuration app does not work. Android version keeps crashing and iOS version only displays nearby bluetooth devices. The product itself looked ok. Waiting for Estimotes.

you really can't tell if it is on or off, coz no matter how hard you press the button, the indicator light was never on.

I purchased 3 of these beacons several months ago as a trial run for a project of mine, and liked them enough that I just placed an order for another 30.They are super easy to configure and adjust using the app in the google play store. I tweaked the UUID for each beacon so I could assign them specific IDs and then distinguish their signals. I also adjusted the signal strength ... unlike another reviewer who needed distance, I actually needed the opposite and wanted the signal to be weaker than the default, and there was a setting that fit my needs.I am using these as a proof of concept for a larger time motion study. I'm placing the beacons at various points in a facility and then asking an employee to carry a device that logs the signals. Basically I'm giving them an old android phone with a different app (not the one from Blue Charm that calibrates the beacons) that reads and logs the signals from the beacons at regular time intervals. Then I can look at that log and see which beacons the person is closest to at different times and analyze their overall movements.This is my first foray into BLE technology and both the beacons and the app were user friendly. Plus support from Blue Charm was very responsive when I had a question about shipping. Like I said, I'm satisfied enough to order another 30, so they are definitely doing something right!
