Another issue that I have been having for several years. Which is best to use for the effect I am seeking. I learned the hard way about gloss protectorates, when climbing stairs, the light bounced off my art project that I had put so many hours in. Very heartbreaking. I never use gloss any more. This is such a wonderful book for the artist in me! Looked it over a few times before reading it more carefully. I was fascinated by the pictures and clear instructions. I learned many useful things I had not known before about finishing projects, blending colors,, carving, etc. I will use the information for my gourd art hobby which entails painting, carving and woodburning. An excellent addition to my arts and crafts books.

Beyond the a rehash of the color wheel for mixing colors, there are many great tips for the non-artistic painter of crafts. Buy it.

The book is very detailed and thorough. The pictures are wonderful. I have been waiting for a book like this to come out to help me make decisions on how to finish a project.
