Nice crop!
Ordered these because I am trying to grow my own alternative "flour" due to Celiac. They reseedthemselves nocely and provide a good amount of seed for eating/grinding into a flour substitute.

Just planted
I just planted one pack a few days ago, and they've already started sprouting. Think it's been about 4-5 days. I just sprinkled them in a planter with some top soil, compost, and perlite. Gave it some water and put it in my little greenhouse to keep it safe from the wildlife digging them up. Not sure if too late in the season for me, guess I'll see. But the seeds are good.

Highly recommend
Plant with some water, good old compost, and some love. Healthy amaranth is all yours to consume. Grows pretty fast. Planted in July and harvested August.

Haven't has any luck
This is the third time I am ordering and sowing them on ground this year. I haven't had any luck so far. We are in zone 9b (Northern CA) with really warm temp and plenty of water. I grow most all other stuff with organic compost from home. Let's see if things change in next two weeks.

Excellent amaranth for looks, grain, and greens
So cool! I grew these this summer (2020) in southeast Michigan. I planted about 100 plants, and I'll probably get about 5 pounds of grain from them. And they are beautiful. 10 feet tall and a lovely purple-red. Drought resistant and suffers basically no insect damage. If you're going for grain, it takes a bit of processing. The leaves are a little bitter when fresh, but they have a nice flavor when cooked. Great buy.

It worked!
Planted and sprouted quickly. Price is a little more expensive than the store but it comes in two packs.
