Really Like it, I want to Love it
I'm really trying to love this watch, but so far I like it. The big screen is perfect for me, I am tall standing at 6 foot 4 and the watch goes well with me. The battery life so far has been great, I've been getting 3 days on this watch and that's without using cellular service just bluetooth. The watch is very comfortable, more so than the gear 2, as the gear 2 hurts my wrist at times depending on what I am doing. The gear s is great for doing exercises, I'm able to jump rope, run or jog and even do push ups and I am comfortable wear the watch the entire time. For as big as it is, I forget that it's on my wrist. The heart rate monitor seems to be somewhat accurate, more so than the gear 2, I compared them and the gear s seems to be more on point as I tested them when I was at my doctor going for a check up.Now, when I first received the watch and started to use it, the battery was not lasting the three days that I am getting, I found myself having to charge it everyday, after doing some research, I found that using or having the cellular service turned on plus the location services on really killed the battery life.I found that if you are not using the cellular service you don't need the location services to be on at all as it uses the location services from your phone. So only use that if you're using this as a stand alone phone, but if you have it using bluethooth then you don't need it.Also, if you're not using the cellular service, turn it off completely as that drains the batter life even when you're not using it, so make sure to go into settings and shut it off.As I said I get three days of use using the bluetooth and that's with me having the s health app running all the time and me using it to control my music while my phone is in my bag. Now, I have an issue that when I turn my wrist to see the time it does not show me the time, as if I have to turn my wrist in a certain way in order to get the time and that is annoying. My gear 2 turns on the second I turn my wrist, sometimes it turns one when I turn my steering wheel, the gear s has a hard time doing that and there is no setting to make it more sensitive in the motion options. This watch is not for everyone and to be honest, I don't think they had women in mind when creating it, because this thing looks like a giant on my wife's wrist.Other than that, I really like this watch, I really thought I was going to love, but I will give it another week to see.

Best Smartwatch Out There
I bought the Galaxy Gear for myself back in 2013 and got the Gear 2 for my father in 2014. The reason I like the Gear S and smartwatches in general is because they get so much attention from people. Whenever I'm out, someone always notices it and makes a positive comment. More than any regular watch I've owned. Especially back in 2013 when nobody else had one. I decided to upgrade my Galaxy Gear to a Gear S. Unlike my first Galaxy Gear this Gear S runs on Tizen OS instead of Android. Tizen is basically Samsung's contingency plan so they would have their own operating system in case Google were to go rogue and start charging people for Android. I don't particularly like Tizen but I still believe this smartwatch is really good. The Android Wear watches aren't really advanced to the point that they beat this IMO. The best part of this watch is the screen is curved and contoured to your wrist. It's a weird feeling scrolling through the menus on a curved screen. You can also make phone calls and text messages. I signed it up for an AT&T plan where the watch has it's own number so I can go running or go to the gym without my phone. You don't have to do this, however. You can use this watch just like the others with just a bluetooth connection. It'll work just like the Gear and Gear 2 this way. The watch also has bluetooth so you can connect some wireless PowerBeats headphones to it and stream music from the watch to your headphones. Because it is Tizen the only music service available is Samsung's Milk music. It's not bad tho. The watch also has a heartrate monitor to use when you're running or working out. I tried the Nike app but the Samsung Health app is much better as it is more featured for whatever you're doing at the time.I like the notifications much better than the first gear. They are more robust with the bigger screen and they show the whole thing. You can download an app called WatchStyler and create different watch faces. Some are free also. There are even more watch faces available in the Samsung Gear app store for purchase. I went on the XDA forums and downloaded some WatchStyler themes that other people created. You just download the zip file to your phone, extract it and then use WatchStyler to search for the file. Another better feature over the original Gear is that this watch is waterproof up to one meter for 30 minutes. So I don't have to put my watch in my pocket or cover my wrist when it rains.Overall I like this watch and will definitely check out Samsung's next offering in smartwatch area. I'm a bit of a Samsung fanboy so I already had the Note 4 that this watch has to be initially connected with to run. At first it connects to bluetooth but if you disable that, it will connect remotely either thru wifi or data thru the included sim car.

Poor design
Wouldn't you know it... Just past the warranty and one of the little tabs on the charger broke off under normal use. Replacements are priced about 4x higher than they should be. Perfectly good charger and it's useless because a tab broke because of poor design.Update: This is about the most idiotic design I've ever seen for anything. After about 3 years, I've had to replace the band, and now the part that the battery clips onto has irreparably worn to the point that the charger no longer clips to it and thus I can no longer charge it. Decent smart watch in actual watch function. Too bad it's not more compatible with other things and there aren't many options or apps available. Still, I would've liked to hang on to it longer since more recent smart watch designs of every brand leave much to be desired.
