RSVP International Kitchen Storage Collection Glass Spice Jars, Vintage Diner, 3-Ounce

I purchased these two months ago at the low price of $1.45 each from Chef Tools Network through Amazon.com. I see that today they are available on Amazon.com from two different vendors at the price of $4.95 each. I would never consider paying $4.95 each. I am organizing my spices and wanted to put my larger bottles of spices in smaller bottles so they would fit in my Spice Stack. These fit in it perfectly. I only have one complaint about the bottles. There is a label on the side which indicates the lid is chrome plated steel and the insert is plastic and to hand wash. There is another UPC code label on the bottom of the bottle. The label on the side came off smoothly but the label on the bottom is a mess. I could remove the label but not the glue. I tried to remove it by chemical-free means by soaking, Pam cooking spray, and steel wool. None of these would touch that thick glue. They are now in the dishwasher and I am hoping the hot water will soften the glue. This glue is so thick and sticky that I will throw away the bottles if it does not come off. It is very unsightly. The bottles are a good thickness of glass and the lid and shaker insert are good. Made in Taiwan is on the label. After removing the shaker insert on one of the bottles I could see a large chunk of glass missing around the threads. Had to toss that one.UPDATE: Unfortunately washing in the dishwasher didn't help get the glue off the bottles. The glue is still stuck like glue! Very disappointing. Should have opened the package sooner so that I could have returned these. While they are attractive this glue has proven to be a mess. Also, one other note on the size of the holes in the sifter insert. They are very small and if you have larger spices such as Rosemary, etc. they will not sift through these holes.

I received a rotating spice rack as a present and one of the jars was broken, with rosemary spilled within the box. Everything else was intact. I could not find a replacement so I looked to AMAZON and there was a jar very close to the size and shape I needed to complete my spice rack. It took two weeks to arrive but when it did it was the perfect replacement for the broken jar. I bought some dried rosemary and filled the jar. I would recommend this size and shape for any rotating spice rack.

Nice looking spice jar that's functional and seals tight. Love that it comes with an unbreakable cover. It's exactly what I needed after I dropped a bottle of vanilla bean paste that cracked the plastic cover that it came with. Highly recommended.

Perfect for spices but hard to remove the white sifter cap.

I use it to store my garlic powder. I like the silver lid, but was worried about the glass, because I have young children. It came with a small chip out of the bottom part where the lid screws on. It doesn't affect tightening the lid, so I'm not going to worry about trying to send it back.

This spice jar is a good product - perfect size to fit any spice rack, lid isn't as flimsy as some other metal lids can be. However, I first thought it was a set of 2 because of the product picture - when I finally realized it wasn't, I was a little disappointed, especially because I had already ordered it and I wouldn't have paid $4.69 for a single spice jar. I hate being misled, and I would appreciate it if RSVP would change the picture to show one jar.

The holes are a little big, so salt pours from this spice holder way too fast. These spice holders work well for pepper and my mix of sugar and cinnamon.
