This product simply works as it should. The negative reviews seem like they're from people that have no clue what they're doing or how the product is to work. Setup is simple and easy, my only issue is the battery cover is hard to take off. I use the twice per day feeding schedule and have the dial a little higher than halfway to feed 12 fish (tetra, rasbora). I put the device on a plate after it was filled to monitor the output amount and make sure it worked at the right times. I did notice that the flake food could get clogged so it is best to crush flake food up a bit. The barrel only rotates at the time of feeding, not slowly through the day. Also, to change the time of feeding, take the batteries out and reinsert at the time you want the fish fed. Yes, as other reviews state the directions are lacking information but some trail and error allows one to figure the product out. Going on 3 days now and working great. If you know what to expect and how it should be used, then this will work fine for you.

Not sure about the earlier review indicating difficulty with assembly. Unit came completely assembled and ready to go except for batteries. It was difficult to open the battery compartment. It was also not clear whether the timer was controlled by the initial push of the "manual feed" button or the insertion of the batteries. I'd recommend inserting the batteries AND pushing the manual feed button at the time of day that you want your fish fed. That way you'll be assured of timely feeding. The timer was very accurate. I had a few days before vacation to test the unit, and filled it with flake goldfish food and set it on the counter. The only problem I experienced was that occasionally, the dispensing "slot" on the food drum would clog and fail to dispense food. On the subsequent pass, it delivered a larger than selected feeding. Bottom line: After 8 days away, my fish is alive. If I had a larger tank or a more sizeable investment, I'd probably get a more sophisticated unit. For my purposes, this worked just fine.June 2016 - I'm adding a star and adding additional praise for this unit. Since my original review this unit has performed flawlessly. My earlier criticism about uneven dispensing was easily fixed by making sure the flakes were of a consistent size before putting into the feeder. The same goldfish is still alive after multiple vacations. Buy with confidence.

Watched a YouTube video recommending this for small tanks. Do not like using with pellets, tends to dump out too many in the beginning. Flakes does not work too bad but is better with granulated fish food. It's worth the money and it seems to work pretty well; tested first so that opening can be adjusted for the size of your fish food. It has a 12 hour setting and a 24 hour setting, and a little dial that opens different sizes for the area that drops the food. It also has an attachment to fasten it to the fish tank, which is removable so it can sit on a flat surface. It's a little rough taking it apart especially where batteries are located. There's also a YouTube video on how the inside works, where the guy takes it completely apart you don't want to go that far.

I usually don't write product reviews, but this product was so bad that I want to warn others. I have used automatic feeders before, and have never had one in which the food got so moldy. I used this in my classroom, and after two days, there were maggots on the outside of the feeder. I was so disgusted that I threw it out. Do not waste your money!

This is typically for larger tanks with multiple fish and it's my mistake for not realizing that. I have 1 beta in a small led fish bowl who I ordered this for because I was going home from college for break and didn't want to transport him home and then back because of the long drive.However, the first two times I tested this, it worked perfect. On the lowest setting, it only spit out two little food balls. The next time I did it on the lowest setting, nothing came out. So I turned the setting a little larger and then about a hundred came out. I put it back to one but nothing was coming out. So I now had the options of nothing or one hundred food pellets and just ended up taking my fish home.Half stars because it appears to be a good product. You can either have it feed once a day or twice. And you can adjust the amount that you want to come out.Not giving it five because nothing came out on the first level (which was what I needed) and as a result, this didn't end up working for me.

The fish feeder works great i was a little worried because it seemed cheap and there were no reviews on it but i was very pleased. my son was in the hospital so i was barely home except in the middle of the night to grab clothes. it not super load but if your across the room you can hear it and it takes a while to get use to the unusual sound for the house.you can set how much you want to fall out and set if you want it to go off once or twice a day. how my tank is set up i had to leave the lid open to hook it on (uses a small plastic clamp to hang on, works well) for a normal square tank i would assume it works fine being hooked on to the open back area.i was very pleased especially with my busy schedule of a toddler, an infant with medical conditions and a full time job. (i know i seem too busy to take care of an animal, but we had the fish before kids and job)

The timer function worked correctly, I had it set for 24h and it turned the cylinder and spilled the food as expected. However, we went on vacation for a week and set up the timer to the side of the tank, as it is designed, to dump tropical flakes. When we returned all the flakes were slime, essentially no longer feeding the fish because the moisture in the tank got into the cylinder and liquified the flakes. The feeder indicated that it worked with flakes, so this feeder isn't very useful due to it not being impervious to humidity from tank.

First off, the feeder is only $10. Is it made out of cheap Chinese plastic? Yes. Does it make a loud noise when it activates? Yes. But besides those couple of points, it does everything you would expect a fish food feeder to do: fee a predetermined amount of food (be it pellets or flakes) in 12 or 24hr intervals. This feeder also allows you to manually trigger a feeding by pressing a button without screwing up the 12/24hr intervals.I bought this feeder as a last resort to feed my aging betta while I was away. At the lowest setting, it was able to feed only a handful of pellets perfect for my fish, or at the highest setting, a torrent of flakes or pellets, making the feeder useful in larger aquariums as well. The To be honest, I was very weary of leaving my fish on a $10 feeder for an extended period of time, so I even moved the tank into the bathroom to prepare for what I thought was going to be the unavoidable result. ONE MONTH later, I returned to check on the fish surprised to see it alive and well. For that reason alone, this feeder earns five stars from me.I have owned the feeder for 3 months now, and although I haven't been away since, I still let the feeder do its thing, just augmenting its portion with some of my own in the rare cases where I believe its released portion was too low. This shouldn't be a problem unless you have fish which require precise amounts of food, or are on special diets. But then again, its probably best not to rely on an automatic feeder in that case.Now, your results may vary, but just know that if you are looking for a feeder, this Resun automatic will get the job done, no matter how cheap it looks, or loud it sounds.

This was a great and reliable feeder that does 2 feedings in a 24 hr period .It worked so well and was easy to set up .It did take a few attempts to adjust the door so the right amount of food was dropped . As we were using the fish flakes , we crushed them up a bit before putting them in the feeder .

Update product worked for two days then stopped. Not reliable. I am afraid to leave my fish alone, it probably would not get feed

It works for when you’re on vacation but like the other reviewers said it overfeeds. Better than underfeeding I suppose.
