What do you add to your grain spawn to support mycelial growth?

We use a custom nutrient blend to fuel fast, healthy colonization without increasing the risk of unwanted growth. We also add gypsum to prevent clumping and provide calcium and sulfur—two minerals that support strong, resilient mycelium.

Why do you triple wash your Milo grain if it’s going to be sterilized?

Triple washing boosts performance by removing dust and residues that cause caramelization, clumping, and uneven moisture. Clean grain means fluffy, evenly hydrated spawn where mycelium thrives and colonizes quickly.

Why do you use reverse osmosis (RO) water instead of tap water?

RO water is free from chlorine, chloramines, and heavy metals that can harm or inhibit mycelial growth. It allows for total control over hydration and keeps our grain spawn consistently clean and high-performing.
