The extension is made out of stainless steel tubing and the two parts fit perfectly allowing the wand to be collapsed or extended easily. The release works in such a way as to prevent the wand from collapsing when in use. The two parts overlap enough to be sturdy and not wobble when extended. The top is made of a rubbery material that holds the vacuum cleaner hose tight. I keep a brush on it when not in use so that the accessory end won't get bent if the wand drops to the floor. I threw out my plastic wands when I got this. This one is well worth the money.

Fit and finish is excellent. Very tight seal. Superior performance. Well worth the money.

I test fit this pole to a couple standard hose adapters and the fit was perfect & snug. To lengthen the pole, with one’s thumb simply push the button forward. The extension portion literally glides out. I am in process of gathering all my plastic shop vac extensions for donation. I bought it for drywall finishing but this pole also will make dusting the house a breeze. I plan to pair it with an 18volt portable lunch box style vacuum from the tool department. It is lightweight.

Well made. Inexpensive.

Works as well as the one that came with my central vac system.
