I don’t mind eating around the pit but that’s harder for young kids and so messy. Cherries staining so easily, the most direct route to the stomach is preferred. This pitter works well and as described.

I just had to go buy some cherries to try this device out. I like to eat cherries right from the bag but it would be nice to remove the pits first before eating them one by one. It is great to remove the seeds too for small kids before they eat them. Just pop in the fruit and squeeze the handle like you would a pair of pliers. The seed pops out the bottom and the fruit is ready to eat or use in recipes. There is a lock in the handle to make the device as compact as possible for storing it. Ideal to have for those that like fresh cherries.
