These have been a big hit in our home. We originally bought them for our 2 year old and while she loves to play with the cars and the people included she doesn't quite build with the other blocks. That said our 5 year old absolutely has love this set. She spends hours playing with it. She loves using the tray so her towers don't fall over. We love the creativity these blocks have brought out in her. I would highly recommend getting this fun set!

These blocks are sturdy and smell like real wood, but I question the quality of the paint. A lot of the pieces (and the board included have gotten stained by the color pieces. Others look a bit faded. Not at all as vibrant as the pictures.

My kids love building blocks! They love creating any and everything. When I saw this set of blocks I had to give them a try. And for the most part, they did not disappoint!These blocks come with a hefty price tag. It had me on the fence for a little bit, but with how much my kids love building, I wanted to make sure I was getting something that was good quality and built to last and withstand LOTS and lots of playing.The one thing I was disappointed in was the dinosaur had several patches of paint on it that weren’t supposed to be there. It doesn’t impact its ability to be played with, but for the price I wish it had come perfect.There are so many ways to play and build with this set. If you aren’t sure where to start the company included a page with several different ideas!I also like that the wooden storage tray has outlines of where the blocks need to go to fit back inside nicely.This truly is a great set. You get vehicles, some people, a cat, pieces to make trees, water, stairs, houses, and pieces to create many different things.Your kids can play with this for long periods of time and use their imagination to create whatever they want!

This set is truly lovely. I love the variety of unique block shapes included. They promote so much creativity and open ended play. Since receiving this set we have created many fantastical playgrounds, parks and cityscapes. My son is especially fond of the stairs/slide shape. He loves walking the little people around his created playscapes.This set would look beautiful on display in any playroom or on top of a montessori shelf. The blocks are all solid wood, save for the three flat shapes which are plywood. Each is smooth and well finished. The colors are muted, which may appear faded to some. I think this adds to the aesthetic appeal, but if you want more saturated colors you may want to look elsewhere.It arrives in a wooden tray that acts as storage for the blocks. The blocks nest together and fit together in the tray just so. I love that the inside of the tray has an outline of each block so a child (or more likely a parent) can put them away without having to play tetris and guess at their placement.I do wish they tray came with a cover, or even just a fabric bag, especially at this price point. The open storage tray is great for display purposes, but makes it a bit hard to store the blocks away on shelves or in a closet when not in use.The price (150 at time of review) is a bit hard to stomach, but the price is consistent with other comparable wooden sets from boutique stores. I still think it is a bit much, but you do get what you pay for here. This set would make a very special gift that will last for years and through multiple children.

Avdar wooden blocks set with storage tray is absolutely lovely! These are hefty, solid wood blocks. The three pond shaped pieces are the only ones made of plywood. All the others are very thick and stable to build with, even on carpet. The edges are rounded and smooth and the earthy colors are superb. Some blocks nest inside one another and there is just enough room to fit well. There is a variety of shapes that you just can't find with the big brands. I love the classic Montessori style, minimalist design here. These are surely to be displayed in the classroom as a centerpiece for your block building area. They come in a beautiful tray that has the block placement burned into the surface. Kids can get these all back in the box and learn while doing it. Perfectly sized for little hands to play with and grasp. Good thick bases to build and stack and lots of shapes to be creative with. This heirloom quality set will not disappoint. These would make such a thoughtful gift as they look homemade and are simply beautiful to display. Teacher approved! Two thumbs up! Recommend for ages 3+.

One of the heads on the people was loose (I would seriously worry it would come off if a child put it in their mouth, and it is the perfect item to choke on!). Overall other than that one pieces, it's a decent block set, and I like that the pieces have an outline of where they are all supposed to be put back on the board. However, at its current price of $149 I would say it's very overpriced, handmade or not.

This is the type of block set that last multiple generations of use in a family... No joke. I can candidly see this being stored away when our kids out grow it and being pulled back out when their kids are ready for it! The individual pieces in this set are constructed masterfully, with durable, brightly colored pieces and enough variety to keep kids interested and engaged for hours at a time! The set stows away conveniently when it is not in use and maintains a footprint small enough to tuck it between shelves, behind dressers, or into a closet.My kids have already put this set to use many times, and I fully expect that will continue well into the future. Fortunately, this set is more than capable of handling routine play now and in the years to come! Amazing stuff!

Someone else mentioned these blocks are heirloom quality and they are 100% correct! High quality material, high quality design, the tray they fit neatly into is perfect! I wouldn’t hesitate to gift these at all. Simply stunning!
