PlixioShoe Stretcher Women and Men's Shoe Widener - Wooden Expander for Wide Feet, Bunions or Calluses (2 Pack)

Been using it for about a year now, its has significantly made shoes much more comfortable. Women's shoes are notoriously narrow and squeezes your toes together which has effected my walking gait. These toe stretcher helps give a little more toe wiggle room to move. I did have to sand one down because the wood was a bit rough with a few splinters, but not a big deal.

These are really really good. Wood is oak, I'm pretty sure -- has a clearcoat on it. Sturdy. Does the job well. Intuitive -- both controls are righty-tighty, left-loosey. Two small quibbles: 1) A couple of plugs were a little hard to insert. Plastic controls left me feeling not 95% confident that they wouldn't break...but the good news is that before I got too worried about it, I was worried more that I might be overstretching my shoes to the point of harming them; so these things are pretty darn strong. Definitely recommended....update, medium flaw, down-graded from 5 stars to 4 star. Flaw is in threads being a little too sharp. As you tighten and loosen the mechanism, the threads can ride on the top/back portion of the shoe -- it cut a thread holding onto the little pull tab on my tennis shoe. The "fix" is to be careful when inserting the stretcher to ensure that the threaded mechanism isn't touching the top/back portion of the shoe; i.e. leave a little gap so that turning the knob/screw won't cut into the top/back of the shore.

I read a review that these would break, but I bought it anyway. I tried them immediately on a pair a shoes that were a little too narrow. The first one broke at the little plastic spreader piece that rides between the wooden halves. The second one split the wood. It appeared the halves weren't trying to spread at the divide because of the bolt and the wood couldn't take the pressure and split wide open. I wasn't using extraordinary force. By nature of what the product is tasked to do, though, there is a certain amount of force required. This product can't take it.So far I've not been able to return for a refund. They just want to send me another one. I don't want another one of these as I don't have confidence this product will work. The parts are wood and plastic. Not even heavy duty plastic.

Picked these up when I wound up with a second set of shoes that I was dreading cramming my toes into. Got some solution to spray with as well to avoid putting too much strain on the shoes.First trial run I was a little timid about the stretch, but it did help with the ankle rubbing I was dealing with on that set.Second use was on my new work shoes. Finished up a full day stretch only to find that the stretcher in my right shoe had not actually widened at all when I turned the crank. A bit of experimentation later I find that it not only won't expand when turned inside the shoe, it cannot even maintain the width I expand it to, even if I then cram it into the shoe at the intended width and then extend the length to hold it in place. It just slips out of place as though I was trying to overtighten the cap on a milk carton.I now have the one that DOES work inside the remaining shoe. My left foot feels pretty good considering I just worked on it for a full day.I'd give them two and a half stars for half of the product working as intended, but I can't. So I'll round up to three since the one that works WILL save me some pain, it's just going to take twice as long as I'd hoped.

I have very wide feet, and I ordered these to stretch some shoes I purchased for an affair where sneakers weren't the ticket. When they came one worked great but the other would not hold in place to tighten the other shoe. I contacted the seller and they sent me a whole new set!That is what I call great service! And now I have shoe stretchers that work easily and make my shoes more comfortable. Just a note--they don't work in boots. But for shoes, they are fantastic!
