If you've ever used J-hook's bolted to your luggage rack you probably understand that it puts the kayak in a bad position for cross winds. When hauling two kayaks you're going to have to use the hooks but if you're hauling a solo kayak using these pads and tying it directly is a much better option. I use two straps around the luggage rack as well as front and rear ties and it is rock solid. I used to cringe every time a 18-wheeler would pass me or a heavy cross breeze would be happening because you could hear the rack creaking and feel the kayak shifting around when they were up on hooks. By keeping the profile low and keeping it down, it handles the wind much better.** I also do not notice any wind noise when driving with these without hauling a load.* My old J-hooks were too tall for the garage anyway so it saves me a lot of time Not bolting and unbolting J-hooks to my luggage rack all the time.* These appear to be very well made and they fit well to the factory Subaru Forester crossbars on the luggage rack.* The 28-in small are a perfect fit for the factory Subaru Forester racks.

Liked the beveled design and snug fit of the small diameter pads. Quiet at highway speeds when not loaded. Longer lengths would look nicer on big SUVs and minivans.

So happy with this purchase! Looks cute and works amazingly. Don’t have to worry about my boards sliding and was easy to take on and off. Highly recommend

These pads are easy to put on and look great and work really well the fabric seem super strong and we’ve only just got them so I hope they sound up be sure to measure the width of your rack to get the right size

Firstly, was excited to recieve this item, looked like a great product... unfortunately when I had opened the box to my surprise and much dismay I only recieved 1 of what was supposed to be a pair of these Aero roof rack pads. Just curious as to how this could be possible? Very disappointing.
