Wow!!! Where to start? From the makers of Star Wars & Tron, this film starts well but fall's flat in the middle, it has a grand look about it & it's premise is out of this World, could & should have been far better than the End result, the Actor's all put in a great performance especially Bill Paxton & Bob Peck.All in all I enjoyed this strange mess of a Movie which I missed at Cinema's when it was hyped & totally forgot about it on vhs 📼.I hope 1 Day that the maker's decide to give it the HD treatment on Blu Ray & pack it full of Special Features..Finger's Crossed..

This film has a curious feel to it but overall I'd recommend it to fans of B Sci-Fi Movies. The budget was clearly quite tight while making this film and there are a number of aspects which an astute critic could spend their time loftily deriling, however the film posseses a certain dystopian charm which keeps the viewer entertained from start to finish.The script is what you'd expect from a low budget sci-fi adventure but the world which is created for the audience is an intriguing, original and dangerous one. Although at times throughout the film, I wanted to learn more about the history of the world which I was being submerged in, I was left somewhat wanting, yet the characters (as odd, changeable & ecclectic as they may have been) kept the story moving along quite steadily with a few surpising twists and the odd ridiculous one.It was nice to see Hamill take up a darker role & Paxton's cheesey charm is hard to argue with. When you pick up this DVD, you should know exactly what you've signed on for. The cameo appearances from big names like Ben Kingsley, Robbie Coltrane & F. Murray Abraham are short but poignant, and the roles which their characters play in the over-arching plot is deceptively poignant.There is somewhat of a social commentary at play within this film, which may be easily overlooked due to the film's lack of popularity and distribution. However, I feel that the more discerning movie-lover may find a lot to be appreciated in this film which otherwise seems to be wholly taken for granted.Its not a reinvention of Star Wars or a haunting fable like 1984, its a sci-fi B-Movie which contains its very own unique charm and an underlying message which is delivered in an unusual yet entertiaining enough way.

I remember this coming being released as a kid. It was a comeback film for Mark Hamill and I was desperate to go and see it. Unfortunately I didn't and it was on my 'must watch list' for nearly 30 years........trust me I wont be watching it again.

A sci-fi that has great cast and a cult following.
