This series of books provides excellent exercises and instruction for self-teaching. Perhaps, being able to carry on very natural conversations in Spanish is one of the most difficult aspects of becoming fluent. This book helps a lot!

I'm a French high school teacher and a Spanish language learner. This specific book in the series Practice Makes Perfect is a gem. As an intermediate student, I know that I need to see the language in context and this book provides informal conversations on numerous common topics. Afterwards, it explains the highlighted vocabulary and grammar for the student.The book focuses on spoken language, which can differ greatly from literature classes that a student takes in college. As a French teacher, this is the type of book that I would use to transition students from basic textbook language to a better understanding of natural use of the language. Often this type of language differs greatly and can even break the rules of the textbook that the students have been studying.More importantly, I recognize that I have gained a more conversationally advanced level of Spanish thanks to this book because I have been recognizing many phrases when I watch my daily telenovela. After all, communication in Spanish is my ultimate goal and if this book helps me to understand why someone is sobbing or screaming for the fifth time in one episode, it's doing its job!

I HAVE A LOT OF THESE BOOKS AND THEY ARE REALLY GOOD, THEY ARE GOOD VALUE, THE CONTENT IS GOOD AND YOU CAN ALWAYS USE THEM TO DO BITS OF WORK OR LOTS OF WORK, I USE AN A4 PAD TO WRITE ANSWERS TO THINGS THEN I CAN ALWAYS KEEP RE USING THE BOOK WITHOUT MARKING IT.

One of the most useful in this excellent series. It is set out under headings of various situations, and gives you useful words and phrases for these situations. This is indispensable book to complement the more grammatically oriented ones.
