Just finished reading Nine Nails. This is a powerful and well-written book. I applaud the courage and introspection it took Cirone to write this novel. This is a strong and detailed portrayal of the twists and turns of life. Bravo to the author. Keep going.

Cirone writes with such brave clarity. There is a sharp edge to her work, her strength in narrative, the choice to not look away or brace for impact in her telling. But I am equally astonished by her sense of hope and tenderness. This is a writer at the height of her power and gift sharing an essential story of love and loss. Masterful work of the essay genre.
