I have a fairly nice collection of Advent loudspeakers. They are among the best vintage speakers out there. Since they were made in the '70s, they almost always need new surrounds. Installing them is very easy and straightforward. Then, I like to re-cap the crossovers. That makes them sound brand new! Since I have the crossovers out of the cabinets, I go a step further. The original Advents use screw terminals to attach the speaker wire. So, all I do is de-solder a few leads, take out the original terminals, and use these banana plug speaker terminals. Then, you have a choice of using banana plugs, the holes provided in these connectors for the wire, or you can screw the wire down using the terminal screws. Again, a simple process but one that will completely modernize a vintage speaker. I highly recommend these if you give any thought to installing new capacitors to your crossovers if you own vintage speakers. The older they get, the more they shift values, or leak, which has a very bad effect on the music you love.

The binding post itself is not bad, but the nut, terminal and lock washer are NOT copper. They are some other metal - that can stick to magnets. Buyer beware.

Worked out great! Replaced the cheesy ones that came with the speaker, which are simply plastic caps threaded over a stud. These new ones hold the spade connectors very securely and look nice too.

Just 4 stars since this is my first binding post purchase and cannot do a comparison. I used them to replace the broken spring clip terminals on my Lepy 2020A amp. I had to create a base for them to screw on to but they were easy to install and made plugging speakers much easier.

First rate. Well designed and executed.

Fairly straight forward installation of these speaker posts to replace the old spring terminals on the back of my NAD receiver.I can now plug banana plug directly into the speaker post.Judging by the weight, there is not enough metal to this speaker post. I would recommend this product for a Mid Fi receiver /amp. IMO this product is not beefy enough for a High end receiver/amp. There are larger physical size versions of this product out there for high end equipment but at more cost.
