Nokia E71 SIM-Free Mobile Phone - Grey Steel

Easy to use, fits well in your hand, high quality build and comes with a reasonably good camera. I would recommend this.

Despite owning a touchscreen smart phone I have always fallen back on my venerable Nokia E63, with its long battery life and responsive keyboard (see my review of this product). Then I lost it on a remote coastline in Scotland. At the time I did not worry as a replacement would be easy to find....well, no. Nokia's current range of 'Blackberry Clones' are not in the same league as the old ones. Eventually I found a refurbed E71 through Amazon and despite paying 2/3rds of the new price for an (allegedly) obsolete phone I am pleased with my purchase. It has GPS and a volume rocker button, which the E63 lacked but, on the downside, the old-style recessed top on/off button is out of reach of the right thumb. It also lacks the LED torch button of the E63 (the LED was a powerful sucker and really useful in the dark) but I gather there is third party software for turning the LED on.Above all, this phone does what I want; a calendar, address book and Nokia maps, while not flattening the battery in hours and being infested with software that runs up the phone bill. The build is solid too and it fits neatly in the hand. I must not lose this one!

I am a big Nokia fan, I went for the E71 as a replacement for my E52 which went through the washing machine!! I have always fancied the fuller size keypad and the E71 was the right price with the right features. Now... I nearly gave this phone a 2 star rating, if there was a 2.5 that is what I would give it.If my wife hadn't purchased a Blackberry Curve a week after I had got my hands on the E71 I would have given this phone 3.5 stars. Comparing the features, ease of use and looks of the E71 to the Blackberry you have to say the Blackberry wins.One very annoying thing that I have discovered about this phone is the poor connection between my phone and my Jawbone hands free. I have never had a problem before with my jawbone and it works fine with other phones but with my E71 it loses connection every 4-5 minutes.Build quality is good, size is just about right and if it wasn't for the Blackberry being a better all round option and the jawbone bluetooth problem then this phone would have been pushing 5 stars. If the Blackberry is not for you and you are not concerned with jawbone connection problems (it connects fine to the cars bluetooth) then don't let my three stars put you off.

Mobile would not charge. Had to return it!!

Got the phone love the look and is a solid phone. build quality is great. Software not so much. It just seems like nokia can not shake the bad symbian base system which is holding it back every time it wants to release a great phone. First time up wanting to use the Camera. Told me that the camera is in use by another application?What application will that be?,as I havent installed any other applications on it. So then restart. Wait another 5 minutes till it boots up. Then photo oppertunity gone.Camera is bad for a 3.2, but lets be honest you are not buying the phone for the camera. Then I loose signal on a regular basis, which is weird considering I am with O2 which has the best signal in London. This phone is just not good enough, but what can one say for that price tag.So it is off to get a Iphone, didn't want to, but since no other Phone manufacurer is actually going to try and top the iphones performance and consistancy this century, I am forced to join the masses for a good reason. The iphone works and is smooth and does not cost a fortune. Maybe that is why Apples profits are astronimical in Recession. They manufacture a product that does what it says and more.

Goods received earlier than scheduled due to leaving for holiday!Awesome product and way above expectations regarding the phone details and status. Scractches are hardly seen and all working perfectly just as new.Really happy with it, great job, great deal!

a good solid mobile with a long battery life & charge .will do most things that latest models will do . JW

I've had this phone for over a year and have been generally very pleased with it - it's my first smartphone - and I've used it extensively with Skype mobile, and Opera mobile for browsing (which is far superior to the Nokia browser). However, I've always struggled with the Nokia software, which has consistently been crap! The actual phone software seems to work reasonably but the Nokia support software, which was PC Suite and then replaced by Ovi Suite has always given trouble. The most recent problem occurred when updating the phone software, as I was told to do by Nokia, and hey ho, now I can't install Skype or Opera and have spent HOURS backing up and hard resetting and restoring and SWEARING a lot and still can't use Skype or Opera so may as well use my old trusty Sony Ericcson phone which is not at all smart but does function as a phone.Strangely enough, this is the first Nokia I've ever owned which probably makes me slightly unusual among the mobile-buying public, but guess what - it'll also be the last. I know things have moved on a bit but when the manufacturer insists you update the phone software and you then find you can't use the features that you had before...well. Needless to say the response from Nokia has been useless too. I shall be shopping for a non-Nokia Android phone soon!

Premesso che il telefono sembra funzionare abbastanza bene. Ho messo un voto bassissimo per far capire al venditore che dovrebbe selezionare corrieri migliori per le spedizioni.Il pacco è arrivato aperto senza manuale d'uso e senza garanzia e il telefono presenta qualche segno sulla parte superiore.Non potendo restare senza telefono e non avendo tempo da perdere non ho voluto rispedire indietro il pacco, sicuramente però non comprerò più da questo venditore.
