Excellent! Can't wait for more!
Dyre: By Moon's Light has a well paced storyline with plenty of twists and turns to keep the reader interested. If you like werewolves, you'll like this book! If you like horror, you'll like this book!I'm really eager for the release of the next one, and for future novels by Rachel E. Bailey.

One of the finest examples of literature in this genre I've encountered
Exceptionally well written, action-packed novel. Suspenseful from page one. Characters are vibrant and believable with complex internal lives. One of the finest examples of literature in this genre I've encountered. Can't wait for the next book!

A very interesting debut novel. . . can't wait for book two!
This is author Rachel Bailey's debut novel although she has had several articles published and has written two short plays, one of which was performed on stage and the other on screen. I enjoy books about werewolves and other paranormals. I particularly enjoyed Dyre By Moon Light as it showed the politics and intrigue between the packs. There was a lot of action in this novel as well as a surprise ending with a large hint which makes me think I know where Book two will begin. Des has a strong family of werewolves, and is to guide Ruby through her transformation. After the murder of the aging Dyre, Ruby is named the new Dyre Queen. Des is to guard her, which means they spend a great deal of time together and form a friendship. The development of these two characters is excellent! I'm looking forward to Book Two, Dyre: A Knight of Spirit and Shadows!

By Moon's Light (Dyre #1)
BY MOON’S LIGHT is the first in a series called Dyre, a LGBTQ paranormal romance series about werewolves. I really wanted to like this book, because hey, queer werewolves! is something I’ve wanted for a while, but there were a few faults that kept me from really enjoying it.The beginning of BY MOON’S LIGHT is a tad confusing. I had to read the first chapters a few times, because there were a lot of new terms — Loup, Hume, Dyre — thrown around without any real explanation. I could figure out that Loup meant werewolf, but I still felt like I had missed something important. While we’re on the topic of wolves, I wish that more had been explained about Des’s wolf, because I got the feeling Des wasn’t like other Loups, but because I didn’t know about other Loups, I don’t know if I’m right or wrong.I also wish BY MOON’S LIGHT had more action to keep me interested. There were some big scenes, but then also a lot of … nothing. Events that didn’t really seem connected to what was going on. Maybe all those events will be important in the next book, but I wanted to see more page time on important stuff, like Ruby’s first full moon, instead of multiple pages of baby feeding. I guess what I’m trying to say is the author never really hooked me — I didn’t care much about Ruby or Des, or what was going on. I wanted to care and to be interested in them, but I didn’t know enough.Even though I didn’t like the first book of the Dyre series as much as I wanted to, I would check out the next one. Based on the ending of BY MOON’S LIGHT, I think there will be more action, and hopefully some Ruby/Des without some Alpha wolf blocking.Disclaimer: I received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

Great book! A rare talent.
Rachel has proven a genuine talent with this book. The characters are interesting, dynamic and three dimensional, the structure is complex but intuitive and the story is very engaging.I think this is the beginning of a very significant author.

Beware the dyre
A great read. Dark and gritty. I especially love the badass, gruesome transformations from humans to werewolves. I also loved that the characters are diverse. Perfect for fans of paranormal fiction, especially for readers who are into shapeshifters.
