Withstands Heavy Torque
I used these 8" screws to connect together railroad ties. I drilled a countersunk pilot hole through the first tie so that the screw only had to screw through about 4 inches of the second tie. Dish soap helped for lubrication. They stood up to torque from a standard battery powered impact driver, an electric drill, and final hand tightening with a ratchet. None of the 50 broke. The Torx heads didn't get deformed or chewed up either, and the included Torx bit was still in perfect condition after driving all 50 screws.

Better than Timberlocks
I'm building a timber-framed structure, I'm using these in place of lags or pegs

A Little Pricey
Used these instead of through bolts on guard rail posts on my deck along with blocking. Drove very well with an impact driver and seem to be sturdy. Hope the coating holds up. Supposed to be better than galvanized. Time will tell

Worked out great in treated lumber!
I used 4 different kinds of Lags for building a retaining wall, and these by far drove into the wood the best.

Quality over quantity
They are expensive but stronger.
