De-Solv-it De.Solv.it® Sticky Stuff Remover Gel Spray 200ml

As a teenager in the 80's, the only thing getting your price sticker off anything was good old white spirits, complete with pong. So, faced with, some 40 years on, a challenge of epic stickiness, the white spirit came back out. And I got cross, like so very cross. It did nothing. I wanted to remove the now failing stick on hexagon shaped felt notice boards inside my cupboard door. Heat moved a fair amount of the actual board, but I had left this pitiful display of black foam back and the remains of the glue, still happily stuck. Enter this.... and you know what, it darn well works and works well too. To get this lot off, and it doesn't look much but it was, I did 2 applications only by virtue of the fact application 1 could not have hoped to work till some of the black foam was off. I used a cheap plastic scraper and the job was done within 30 mins, and that was mostly as I washed up between applications. Completely awesome, utterly brilliant. Never again will I have a white spirits pong in my house. Yes this does have a little whiff to it, but it seems kind of orangey smelling to me, so not unpleasant at all. Also, this did cling well to my cupboard door, whilst the door was still hung. I just popped old paper under it and also held some cardboard along the sides of the door as I sprayed to catch over spray. For me, perfect. Give it the time needed on the tin. I left it a bit longer, and that was not an issue.

If you’ve sticky stuff on vertical surfaces this is brilliant. Had to remove stair gate fixings on glass which were held tight. After managing to push in the scraper slightly x I sprayed this behind them had to wait a few hours and a couple more sprays and they came off. It doesn’t run much stays where you spray it. It has a smell of its own which goes away washes off hands easily. Good value for money

Amazing! It got rid of all marks (sticker residue and white board marker) without destroying the book. I thought it was beyond saving!

This stuff is fantastic. I have used a different brand in the past, which did work eventually, but it had a very strong citrus orange smell, and was rather like WD40 oil when trying to remove it after use. But De-solv-it is just the opposite. I have a rather expensive pair of Japanese engineering scissors, which got completely gummed up after cutting some weatherproof window sealing tape. I bought De-solv-it, sprayed it on to the heavily contaminated cutting blades, and in the time it took to read the instructions, it had turned the adhesive into a milky liquid, that I was able to just wipe off with a tissue. Amazing. I am impressed for several reasons. The first is the sheer speed that the product worked. The second is the lack of any strong smell. In fact De-solv-it doesn’t really have a smell at all. And the third, is just how easy the dissolved liquid was to remove, it was just like milky-coloured water. And let me tell you, the adhesive from the weather-seal tape was not like Sellotape, or packing tape it was a very strong adhesive, like you find on webbed tape like Gorilla or Duck tape, that had the scissors almost glued closed. Highly recommended.

I recently moved house and (foolishly) taped the power cords of my kitchen appliances to themselves with tape. This left a horrible sticky residue that I haven't been able to remove. I bought this remover and it worked surprisingly well. Just spray on and leave for 5 minutes before wiping off.

Bought to clean off tape residue from my car. Doesn’t work that good. Left the solution on for 15 min but didn’t work. Let it on for several hours also didn’t work, but after several attempts tape residue cane off.

Handy to keep in your cupboard. Removes glue residue from sticky labels on hard surfaces easily. Good value buying it here. Top tip: It has a strong chemical smell so only use in a ventilated space, and put out the rubbish after throwing out any clothes you've used. Be careful of over spray onto any surrounding surfaces, it is a solvent after all.
