Munchkin Duck Inflatable Baby Bathtub, White Hot Heat Alert

Bath time for babies can be a dangerous adventure, there are threats like drowning and head injuries to be concerned with. The Munchkin White Hot Inflatable Duck Tub address both of those concerns for me, the inflatable duck protects a babies fragile head from the hardness of the tub and it holds very little water to help avoid the drowning scenario. The inflatable duck has it’s own built in plug drain to allow the water to escape and a suction cup on the base of the tail end of the duck to allow for easy, temporary storage of the unit. The main reason I bought this product was for the White Hot Safety Disc that is in the tub area next to the drain plug, this helps so much for a new parent to know when water is too hot for a babies skin. The disc will turn white with the word HOT showing in red when the bath water is too warm for a baby and will turn solid blue when the water is safe for a baby to be bathed in it. This was specially important for me as I purchased it for a gift for the mother of my granddaughter, she is a first time parent and has a lot to learn about taking care of an infant. The contoured headrest allows for the rinsing of a babies hair, if you ever tried this without leaning your babies head against something then you will know how hard this can be. They state on the box that this is a product for babies age 6 to 24 months old but I think it can be used with a newborn baby as well, this is just my opinion. This is the reason that you should always read a products safety information rather then trust a strangers advice in a product review, not everyone will see the world as you do. The bottom of the duck tub is inflatable as well so your baby does not have to sit uncomfortably on a hard surface to be bathed, there are two separate stems to blow up, one for the main body and one for the bottom of the bath tub area. The inflatable tub being shaped as a duck and the bright yellow coloring of the duck adds to the appeal to a baby. The duck is a symbol that most youth love and associate with fun and water, while the vibrant yellow coloring targets the eye sensory of a child. This is a great baby & toddler tub for both the child and the parent, it allows for easy access, storage and can be used in multiple locations. You don’t only have to use it in the tub, you can bath your child in any room of the house if you would like and as your child grows the duck can be used a flotation device if proper supervision is present. This tub offers endless hours of fun, your child would love this inflatable duck even if you inflate it with no water added, just toss it on the floor and watch your child climb and play. Very Cute! My grandbaby loved it only thing is I thought I could fit two babies and no only one fits.

SUPER CUTE! I was worried about the size being too small for my 11-month-old baby but it turned out to be a great fit. We used it in the hotel room (shower only) , baby was able to sit comfortably and still has room to play. The edges were quite sturdy and I like the head support. It’s easy to inflate yet it leaks a little bit overnight so we had to inflate it every day. Given the price and quality, definitely worth the money!

Great for traveling! I have used this in multiple different Disney resort baths/showers and Disney cruise baths. It fits perfectly, with room to spare, in all of them. Tip: In my experience, you cannot just release the valves to deflate overnight. The valves need to be pinched for a few minutes.

For the actual bath, I've been very pleased with the product. Our baby (since 6mo, now 7mo) enjoys playing in the tub, and actually cries when I take her OUT! it is easier to bathe her in this than when I tried using the entire adult tub, and also so much better than the prior infant tubs that we used. As other reviewers noted, i just turn the tub over to empty it - too much of a hassle to use the drain. As with any tub, once we get her soapy, it is a bit of a toss-up whether or not she is perfectly soap-free when she gets out of the tub, but wouldnt this be an issue with any tub? I don't tend to use much soap, and don't feel too badly about just using the same water to rinse her with (yes, i just use a red solo cup, which she loves, to pour water back over her.) I only use soap AFTER I've already washed her head/face, and after I've set aside a cup of water to pour over her head. Also - after the first use, the tub had already de-flated enough that i had to blow in more air before our next use! I contacted customer service, and without any hassle at all, they are sending a new tub to replace this one (I just had to reply via email with some product numbers, and that was it.) i'll update this review after i receive the new duck! Oh, and the 'quacker' never worked, but that was never a selling point for me! certainly more than worth the $12 for the product - so far, of all the newborn and infant tubs (a total of 3) that we've purchased, this has been by far the best product & value! UPDATED 11/12/12: Received the replacement on 11/10/12, within the 10-12 business days quoted by the customer service rep. It's been inflated, and I'm waiting to see if it stays inflated longer than the first one!

This is so perfect for my 18 month old baby and helping with the transition from the infant tub to the regular one. It’s super cute for bath time and makes it more fun. The value for the money is excellent. The stability of it is great. The fit is perfect for a standard sized tub. Easy portability if you want to take it on vacation for the hotel bath.

The baby really enjoyed this and it made bathing a preemie easier.

Pros: -Versatile as a toy and great for beach. It's pretty darn cute and makes for a great toy. My baby has outgrown it as a tub, but it's sitting in his playroom as a boat, a fort, something for him to load his toys in and push around, etc! During the summer we also took it to the beach a few times because I needed something for him to sit in (the ocean would have been too cold and scary) -GREAT for travel!!! If we ever need to stay over somewhere, we take it with us as it's easy to pack up and blow up/use. -Good quality, sturdy materials. The one I got is very sturdy and has thick, durable material. My toddler is ROUGH with his toys too, during playdates he and his friends jump in and out of the tub, push it around, etc, and it has never leaked. I might have to occasionally blow it up a little more, but that's only once a month or so, if even that. -Colored temperature indicator is helpful Cons: -hard to fill up. Because of the thick dimensions of the head and tail, it's really hard to fill it up with water directly unless your faucet is really really far from the wall. I always had a cup that I would hold under the faucet to redirect the water in, but it was annoying that to fill it up I would have to hold and tilt the cup the entire time (vs. using that time to get the baby ready). -very large! It takes up a lot of space, and realistically I don't see how it can comfortably fit into a bathroom you're using--you would have to put it on the floor as you use the tub or shower. We luckily have a spare bathroom for the baby, so I just kept the duck in the tub. -suction cup is worthless. There is NO WAY it can support the entire ducktub for more than 2 seconds to hang -no squeaker :-( Mine never had one -age range is questionable. It says it'll go up to 24mos, but my baby maxed out around 12mos (around 27lbs). He also started moving/standing too much that it became a hazard. Overall, I would highly recommend this, not just as an interim tub but also as a toy/travel tub/beach chair :-)

This was a life saver on a vacation my family took when there wasnt a bathtub avaliable to bath my 5 month old. It blew up super quickly and was the perfect size. The quality surprised me, the plastic was very thick and I felt it would take alot for it to get a hole. Easily packable, took on many vacations between my 2 kids
