By the Light of the Sea: Jean-Loup Daraux Hardcover – November 15, 2008

This is really a beautiful book. I have been showing it off to friends and family. Inspiring artwork and lifestyle.

I bought this book for the photo of a particular stair railing.The book is beautiful and useful as I remodel a home.

My main disappointment in this book is that there is so much repetition. I don't need to see an item five times. The photography is lovely but that almost makes the repetition more obvious. M. Daraux stole my heart in En Passant par la Demeure but this doesn't hold a candle to that magnificent work.

Have his previous book and this one lives up to expectations - a greatphoto book as well as the writing - strongly recommended.

This book graced the coffee table of a resort I stayed in recently and I couldn't wait to get back to the States to order it!! Every page is elegant, charming, stylish, rich in design, but relaxing and inspiring at the same time. I've seen a lot of books like this, but never one that every page inspired me. If you want to turn pages and imagine staying in a fabulously artistic and yet perfectly simple seaside villa, order this and look through it, especially on days when you want to travel to such a place but your life won't permit it. A great visual escape. Loads of decor ideas, also.
