Hi I bought this to regulate water flow. says top number water flow and bottom number total. Both mine read the same.. why ?

I think, but it is a while since I checked, that the ‘Clear’ button sets the top number to zero. Start again and it will start from zero while the other number continues. Press the ‘Reset’ and they booth clear back to zero.

Does it tell you the flow rate?

It shows how much water has flowed through it but not rate of flow. We use ours to put 20 litres of water in our Motorhome before travelling so we know the exact weight of water we carry

Will this work as a measure on an auto water feeder in a stable?

Depends on the water pressure. If it’s within it’s measuring range then I’d say yes but if you want it to continually count up every time if dispenses water then it may reset between each time. I have a different flow measure plumbed in that remembers the last reading and what I’ve used as a total and just use this to measure each time what I’m putting in.
