Rawhide Season 4 [DVD]

Well, have to say that the picture quality for series 4 has dipped a bit from the previous series, but that seems par for the course (from the review comments, the American and German DVD releases seem to be the same), but it's still great fun to watch, especially for a Clint Eastwood fan like me. One strange thing, though, is that for the UK release, the episode Abilene - which as far as I can find out is the final episode of series 4 - has been moved to the end of series 5. I gather from a customer review of Rawhide series 4 part 2 on Amazon.com that the Abilene episode was pulled from its originally scheduled slot and aired about a year later, which may explain this, but since the previous episode The Devil and The Deep Blue has the drovers approaching Abilene, it clearly would have made sense to include Abilene in the series 4 set (as seems to have been done with the American and German releases). Doesn't matter too much to me since I'm buying all the series anyway, but something to bear in mind when watching the episodes...

Thanks to Paul M for clearing up the mystery of the ‘missing’ episode Abeline ; I shall skip to the end of season 5 before going back to the start of it ! Have just received Season 8, which means I now own the complete thing, and how amazed I’d have been to know that was possible, back when I was pre-teenage.

took them long enough to realise this after series 3 but well worth the wait ,great series better than most stuff on tv these days ,look forward to rest of series which I see are due out till nearly end of this year to complete the whole series.cant wait

Brought series 1/2/3 picture on front was black&white so we're the cd's which I expected sent for series 4 thinking as picture on front was colour the cd's must be in colour which would have been great to see . Imagine my disappointment when package arrived the front cover and cd's were all in black&white!

Always been a big fan of Rawhide. Quality of playback not as good as Series 1 to 3. Perhaps it's the change of distributor, still the stories are good and it takes you back.

This was a gift for a friend who is a big Rawhide fan but the Video of each DVD is slightly out of focus and there is a jerkiness about the Video similar to the poor latency that shows when being copied through a cheap computer.

Loved every episode, it helps that you can check which episodes are on the dvd’s before buying.

Great to have this on region2 at last,good quality shows.
