Low budget movie that knocks it out of the park.But only if you like the desert.

An okay film with a weak story line and a couple of decent actors.

SO not what I expected!You are watching the movie and your bored. You are waiting for something to happen.Then something does happen and you are like WHAT? WHY? FOR WHAT REASON?SO that is not it, you still wait for something to happen and then......The End! And you are like... wait... that's it?

Very well wrought characters. Lovely details. Especially love the crappy song the villain made, which plays while his den burns, that was a fantastic touch. Also love how the villain's face is perfect for his character. I honestly hope l forget this film just so l can watch it again.

I started to get fixated with how many times the feckless villain would spout the word brother , that's how pointless this epic ramble was.

Great acting on the part of the anti-hero, and the anti-anti-hero ... I'm not sure either of them could be classed as heroic!Good plot and story, though holey, and entertaining throughout. Surprised me that I watched it without a break as it got quite intense in parts.

If you go into this movie with expectations based off of the trailers, as I did, you will find yourself surprised by the tone of the movie. While the trailers make this appear like a contemporary, dark thriller, this movie looks back to thrillers of earlier decades. The dialogue is light, but the acting carries depth. The score, to my novice ear, hearkens back to Hitchcock.Garrett Hedlund and Oscar Isaac both deliver an excellent performance. They play well off of each other and tell a story of ambiguity, not in the sense that what the characters do is ambiguous - they are both clearly in the wrong for different reasons - but in the sense that viewers can suspend their judgment as they observe the action.With all of the negative reviews I've seen on here, I was expecting something "2edgy4me" but I ended up with a pleasant surprise. This movie was well worth the wait after about a year since its presentation at Tribeca.

Excellent thriller. Lots of strange and bizarre stuff takes place in California's Mojave Desert.The Mojave is a strange and interesting place. Dangerous, yet inviting and beautiful at the Sametime. An escape and at the same time a prison.

This Movie is a Revelation. A man ready to commit suicide. Has everything a man could possibly want. Unhappy. Meets the dark side of his duality, personality, confronts and kills it...Quite Literally. Beautifully done film. Dialogue AND action scenes are stellar. Cast is Stellar. If you are downcast with this film, watch it over and again until you recall High School and Early Collegiate Philosophy. If you had none of those pre recs? Go get a library card. Brilliant Film!!!!
