I wasn’t expecting much for what I paid but I’m happily astonished at the quality of this compass! It’s dead on accurate, looks great, feels great and being liquid filled, I don’t need to wait three weeks for it to settle down! I spend quite a bit of time exploring the SW desert and this will come in handy. I only bought it as part of a shadow box display but it works so well I’d rather use it. I have several Jeeps and will be buying more just to have a backup in each vehicle. Shipping was instant! Got it the next day! VERY happy!

Not real military but will work fine

It’s small (about 2 inches in diameter) but has very useful features. I just recently received the unit, so haven’t used it in the field yet. But it’s well built. and I’m sure it will work very well. I do see me hiking in the hills near my home , which are very wooded, so, I’m very anxious to get out in the Spring weather and I’m sure it will give me follow my printed maps and get my destinations, and back home safely.

Wire was broke

Don't bother, mine was off 8 degrees and verrrrry slow to turn to approximate north. The frame is actually well designed, I was disappointed that it did not work. The liquid it was filled with may be causing it to be slow, perhaps they used to viscous an oil. The being off 8 degrees was a design flaw and is difficult to understand. I compared it to a phone app compass that is dead on with another good compass, and the needle on this compass was absolutely off, not just the painted matt on the face. Not recommended except for a toy for a child under 5.

This compass gets the job done and is everything it is listed to be. Its really study and I'm sure if I drop it or even chuck it across the street, it would be fine. Especially since you can lock it , the compass itself should be very protected. It is very sensitive and adjusts whenever I walk and turn, so it is functional. It is faster than the other compasses I had, and this is cheaper. As far as functionality and practicality, this compass is the way to go.

I bought in case USA gets nuked I'll have to guide thru hardship and the only direction is a compass. Reason to buy. Needed to easy to read and navigate.

If you are thinking about purchasing this compass and aren’t sure if you should or not, let me just fill you in on what I think of this product.First I will walk about he durability of this product. Then I will talk about the accuracy of the compass itself.So, Eaggle has claimed it is waterproof and shakeproof. I have submerged it in about a sink full of water for about a couple minutes and there seems to be no leaks, however the latch that keeps the compass closed is a bit loose so if you were to really shake it, the latch opens and the compass opens, so I believe that could be improved. The compass is made out of metal and plastic, and does have weight to it but isn’t too much to handle and is very portable and compatible to any pocket or any place you’d like to put it to carry.The bottoms of the compass is made of plastic where the four Phillips screws hold the bottom on.The accuracy on this multi-purpose compass is very accurate. For best results right out of the package, lay it on a flat surface to make sure you get the most accurate direction.In the description of the compass on amazon and the instructions that come with the compass, it says the N represents North, however there isn’t an N...It only has an Arrow pointing to the North and then has East South and West. Why that is I have no clue but just thought I’d fill you in about that just in case you get confused as I did.It also has meter measurements engraved into the compass which is nice. It goes from 0-3,000 meters.Overall I’d say if you are looking for a budget, comparable and reliable compass, this compass would be good for you.
