Got this as a tryout to see what it’s like to own a straight razor overall it’s a good razor set but is not sharp so will require being sharpened by using a wet stone the strop alone won’t do it

Firstly got sent the wrong razor, got the one with the black blade with a grey wooden handle.Secondly the blade was dull and rounded off on arrival. No matter what technique I use to strip it the blade won’t sharpen at all. Very disappointed and wouldn’t recommend for anyone looking for a good traditional straight razor, I find the more money you spend the better razor you’ll get.If it wasn’t for the problems of the blade, this would’ve been a good buy, the razor is well constructed and feels nice and weighty in your hand, but the quality of the blade is less then useless it can’t even cut paper!Don’t buy!!!!

Bought to trial straight razor. Tried shaving straight from box. Ouch. Dull. Tried stropping for a while, no good. Not even close to a disposable Bic.Should not need to be honed straight from factory. Very disappointed.

Arrived quickly. Can shave with it out the box. I honed it again and all is good. No jimping, I don't like jimping. Blade has a slight flaw but the edge itself is fine. Plastic surrounding the small pins look slightly as though the pins were slightly pushed in but you need a magnifying glass to really see that. Blade isn't tight but but very slightly sticks, once again I am being critical. Strop canvas needed hoover to make it perfect. Strop leather has slight staining on the back but cleaned it so it is not a biggy. Leather strop surface isn't cracked at all but could be smoother. I added some oil to give it more life.Overall, for price, I'd buy it again. Not as good as "Haute Couture" razors but still not a bad razor. Thanks
