Nice built but, was expecting it sharp, Have to thin the blade and and give a good edge for shaving- Tha was the pourpuse I bought it; to get rid of some whiskers.

I had the original version from about 15 years ago and loved it for opening boxes and cutting things. Brand new this is absolutely razor sharp and the knife held up well over the years. I finally lost it the other week and immediately looked for it and found this lovely new edition which is the same but has a better pivoting rivet. Absolutely awesome! I never had to sharpen the original except for a few passes on knife rasp once a year. It did not stay absolutely razor sharp, but stayed very sharp non the less. Best knife/box opener ever!

I like this knife. I like the design, the 440 Stainless Steel blade, and the size. There are only a few minor deterrents. First, the hinge action on the blade arrives a little loose for easy opening, and if it's too loose for your liking, you'll need an Allen Wrench of a particular size to tighten the blade. The Micarta is fairly durable, though is a paper-base, creating a slight feeling of flimsiness, though I haven't had any problems yet. The blade doesn't arrive very sharp, and as such, a sharpener is nearly a must. There was also a little bit of stain on one side of the handle that looks suspiciously like rust. But for the price, definitely a good buy for collection or practical use. If considering, definitely purchase.

Full disclosure, I did NOT buy this knife from any of the sellers on ebay but from a knife show a couple years ago. I paid about $10 for it if memory serves me and was attracted to it by the straight razor style and the micarta handle.The razor was sharp enough to shave the hair on my arm with when new but the edge didn't last very long at all. Not a big problem, as I know how to sharpen knives.The problem with mine is the liner lock mechanism. It worked just okay when new and very quickly stopped working at all, which is quite frustrating when trying to use it as it always wants to close up at the wrong time. I've not yet tried taking it apart to see if I can repair it but I assume it's possible.Having said that, it's a great knife for the price as long as you aren't expecting much more than a really cool but cheap knife.

This knife comes in 2 flavors. One is sharp, And one is dull. I had one I got a year ago new that was square sided literally like a square right angle. It wasn't even with a starter edge that you sharpen yourself. the second one I got, I got a few days ago. I just used it to shave the hair off the back of my arm, And create a use for some old band-aids I had. This knifes sharpness isn't a problem anyway, Unless you are a moron you know how to sharpen a knife. The problem is the square shape of the blade. When shut the top edge rests against the inside of the handle, Forcing that razor sharp edge into hard steel. That keeps on ruining the sharpness of the upper edge. If they were to fix this one problem, the knife would be perfect. I do have a easy remedy for it though. With a sharpening stone give the whole edge of the blade a slight angle. So that the top edge of the knife is closer to the back edge Then the bottom. That will fix it easy.

i love this thing , looks like a straight razor but is legal to carry , ive bought 4 and gave them as gifts . everyone loves it
