It really works!
I got one of these for my parents a few years ago. The first winter there were only a dozen tubes filled. The next winter over half were filled. This winter there is a no vacancy sign! My parents take it into the garage before the first hard freeze and then return it outside during the spring thaw. Then within a few weeks, the reeds are empty and a new generation begins to use it. I decided that this would be a the perfect Christmas gift for family members!

Love it!
We have a lot of wooden bird houses in our back yard. This bee house is a great addition and fits right in. It is well made and beautiful. We installed it under the eaves and near some blooming flowers. Our neighbors got one three weeks ago and they already have bees. Now patiently waiting for better weather and bees! Definitely buying more of these.

Not the best
Disappointed. The house seems nice and sturdy. But unfortunately it is missing about 5 tubes. It’s not like they fell out in the box either. Nowhere to be found. On top of this there are other loose ones and without plugging the empty area with something (maybe a rocks or some sticks) everything is going to get loose and fall out. My reviews are hardly ever negative. This product though is disappointing. A lack of care went into this.

Not all the tubes will work
Nice looking Mason Bee house. But about 10 of the bamboo tubes had been cut and assembled such that there was little to no depth in them before encountering the plug between bamboo sections. In some cases the depth was less than 1/4 inch. I had to drill out several tubes to make them ready to accept a bee.

This is a nice mason bee house
Mason bees are better at pollinating than honeybees! Who knew? I've read that 250 mason bees will pollinate as well as 1000 honeybees and they operate in cooler weather (plus they are native to the US). The downside is that they don't produce honey, but I want pollination. I can purchase locally made organic honey. This bee house is well made and has a slotted screw hole at the top. Drive a large head screw into the wall and hang the hive. I am concerned that this is the only fastener the house has so a strong wind could move it from side to side. I would recommend that the manufacturer put a metal tab at the bottom with an additional screw hole in it to securely fasten it. I'm going to do that before I install it. The installation would then be simple. Install the top screw. Slide the bee house onto that screw and install the bottom screw to lock it in position.

Satisfied! Read Mason Bee book which said might not work. Will take chance as conversation piece.
Mason Bee tried to build its home in a game with holes for pegs on my unfinished porch. Put 2 separate screens at the double door. Bee returned finding way through overlapped screen. Amazed! Later saw a bee box in nature catalogue. Didn't know existed. Should have read the Mason Bee book I purchased first since it says bamboo might not be the correct wood. Not sending back since others in reviews said their bamboo box worked. Will have to wait til spring, since almost Oct. when box must go in a shed or garage.

Some of the bamboo pieces are too small or blocked
Fewer places for bees to nest since the sizes of the bamboo pieces are not even close to uniform. Some are blocked so there is no hole at all.

You get what you pay for.
It seems sturdy. I’m hoping it will hold up through Michigan’s weather. There are several bamboo tubes that aren’t drilled out all the way, or are blocked with saw dust and debris. I tried using tweezers to pull the debri out, it worked on a few... but there are still several that the bees won’t be able to use. A few are smashed completely and a few others are in backwards. It is made in China. However, it IS one of the less expensive ones on Amazon, so I guess you get what you pay for. I am going to keep it and cross my fingers that the bees will decide the imperfections are no big deal.
