Really great book, perfect for what I need. I use it to study with when I goto the Library, allows me to practice via repetition things I need to learn. First I will offer you some tips to get you started.ACCESSORIESFirst of all you need DRY-Erase (vs. Wet-erase) markers. It comes with 1, but any experience with Dry Erase markers and you know they don't last that long. I have 2 recommendations depending on your needs.- For Markers that do NOT Smudge when You close the book I recommend  Staedtler Lumocolor Correctable Pens (305FWP4)  Staedtler Lumocolor correctable markers. The fact they don't smudge conversely means they are slight harder to erase.(Great company btw, I use exclusively their  Staedtler Textsurfer Classic Highlighters (Staedtler) Highlighters as well... best on the market sorry to digress but I love them a lot!).- If you are like me & use this book as a way to study by repetition (Read & Regurgitate) & you want something that WILL EASILY Erases (and hence smudge if you close the book) I recommend Expo's  Expo 2 Low-Odor Dry Erase Markers, Chisel Tip, 12-Pack, Black . The only color in my experience that oddly didn't work well was Purple.For erasing either of these pens I found it handy to use  Sparco SPR1 Chalkboard Eraser, All-Felt, Dustless, Black  Black Felt chalk board erasers (similar to the aforementioned link) with me and they do the trick with a lot less effort than say a tissue.The color remains on the pages and if that really bothers you and you want to keep it Pristine White.... I offer you a cheap solution and suggest using ACETONE (Nail polish remover) and it will all come off instantly and easily.PRODUCT CONSTRUCTIONThe product itself is of sound construction, the weakest link being the metal-like Binding Spiral rings. which are a little bit more malleable than I like but they look like they will hold up. I have had it in my book bag everyday for over a month and it has held up perfectly fine. I just recommend not to squish it by over stuffing your bag. The plastic sheets that cover the pages inside are a nice feature, it can catch any grease though you may have on your fingers so beware! But overall this was a very well thought out product and I would highly recommend it to anyone!

For those who need to physically write out their thoughts and are looking for a semi-permanent way to record information, there's no better solution. As a science student, I found the NUboard to be extremely valuable when writing out metabolic pathways and biochemical reactions. The included marker/eraser combo are "ok" but the marker is dry erase meaning that information can be wiped away easily. Therefore, I'd recommend also ordering the Staedtler Lumocolor correctable Pens . The Staedtler pens are wet erase, making them resistant to simple abrasions caused by your off-hand. A simple pack of wet wipes or tissue dipped in water will allow you to make any corrections you need!

Pretty cool. With the staedler pens it's a great alternative to paper, not many pages, and I wish I had the option to have lined or a grid pattern. It was expensive, but I would buy again.

Great product. I especially like the clear sheets for each page to layer drawings.

As a teacher this has been an amazing teaching tool. I discovered these back when I was living in Japan and found them in this great store call Tokyu Hands (Highly recommend to anyone visiting Japan). I started using the first one for a outlining a book idea. I ended up buying a second one for everyday use. I like the idea of going from board to board and using them with my students in small break out groups. If I like a certain idea or thought, I snap a picture of it, and throw it on Evernote for posterity.It's true what you hear, they do tend to smudge when you close the book but I found to cut this down by leaving it open for a few minutes while the ink dries a bit more and this helps a little. I am constantly getting asked by other teachers and staff about my notebook which lead me to believe their is a high demand for these in the school so this is why I write to all the teachers and educators out there reading this.I also purchased the big mama-jamma for when I do outdoor classes or need to do board work at home.Pros:* A notebook with portable boards that you can take with you everywhere cleverly disguised as an elegantly designed notebook.* Comes with its own pen and carrying sleeve which you can affix anywhere on the notebook.* Each page has two clear sheets that help with the smudging, but ultimately I use the heck out of them for putting post it notes, or for explaining to students, thus only erasing the current work but not the whole work up.Cons:* Very Pricey (erm...erm... but worth it if you plan on using it a lot *cough cough*)* Plastic sheets in between boards get dirty very easily.* Will start to look used after a few uses, meaning it won't have it's clean board sheen.Current Owners:* Use the  Staedtler Lumocolor Correctable Pens (305FWP4)  to lessen the smudge factor.* Make sure that if the plastic sheets are on the table, that the table is clean, they scratch very easily when their is dirt or debris on the table.* When storing, be mindful of the metal spine, they seem to be quite 'bendy'.* Best eraser . .  Mr. Clean Magic Eraser, Original (8 Count)  This bad boy will lift smudges from previous stains left behind.

As a UX designer in just a few days this has been used non-stop. I pretty much used up the marker it came with. The only complaint I have that would make it a five star product would be to have the inner transparent sheets colored. When you are writing and working fast I accidentally wrote in the plastic sheets.
