Pertronix Bosch 1847A Ignitor
The unit was in good shape. I've gotten better for less but the performance is better than points so I just hope it lasts longer than my last Pertronix ignitor

EASY UPGRADE THAT IS A MUST FOR AIR COOLED VW's!
Take 10 minutes and never set points again! Worth every penny and runs SO much better, highly recommend this upgrade!

VERY IMPORTANT TO KNOW!
ive owned several of these on various vehicles over several decades and always a quality product made in good ole' USA.But the magnetic collar for the 009 dizzy is a bit tall, causing the rotor bottom shoulder to ride a bit too tall inside the cap. CHECK THE CLEARANCE between the bottom of the rotor shoulder and the mag sleeve top or your rotor button inside the center of the cap will wear prematurely. Check for a gap between with a flashlight from behind or a .010" feeler gauge. I ground my rotor shoulder down on the side of a rotating bench grinder wheel to desired clearance. Under no circumstances should the bottom of the rotor touch the magnetic collar! Always a gap and check carefully 360 degrees

Works great.
Easy to install. Just make sure you make sure you connect it correct or it will burn out. Also do not leave the ignition on to long without starting the engine.

Smoothness
Easy to fit, worked straight out of the box, timing did need adjusting but may have been caused by the previous ignition setup. Have yet to try it long term but that won't happen for 6 months.
