Read Aloud Bible Stories: Vol. 3 (Volume 3)

These are my toddlers favorite Bible books among a series of beginner bibles and picture Bible stories. We read stories from each every night. I find them hilariously simple compared to other stories that aim to simplify Bible stories for toddlers. Definitely resonates with my 3 year old. Only thing that could be improved are the basic illustrations and introducing some more variation in skin color in crowd illustrations.

I appreciate a book that can be around for decades and still be fairly popular. I gave it a try with my two year old and he loves it. I like the simple sentences and remember the rest as I'm reading it and enjoying much of what the writer had left in.

My 3 year old granddaughter loves these stories. Yes, as noted in other reviews, the sentences are short and very "child like", but that's exactly what I wanted. At the end of each story is a "What Did you Learn" page with facts from the story (From God Gives His People Bread to Eat: "God knew His people were hungry. He gave them something to eat. He has made good things for us to eat too. Can you think of some?) Once my granddaughter is reading, this will be the perfect book for her to read aloud. The print is big and pictures are colorful. While visiting at my house, we read these stories every night for 5 consecutive nights.

This book is an outstanding collection of children's Bible stories. It's creatively illustrated, engagingly narrated, and faithful to the intent of the Bible stories. It aims at a pre-school to kindergarten audience, but its clear presentation of Bible truths engages adults as well. A 6-year-old child was riveted by my reading of these stories (It was the stories, not simply my inspired reading, that captivated her) and demanded that I read them again. I hope to get this book for several families with small children.

I read these to my children and I am now reading them to my grandchildren and love to give them as gifts. The stories are written in a way that is fun for small children and the pictures are big. My grandson who is not even two yet loves these. I have all four volumes. I highly recommend them.

I received the set as a baby gift when my daughter was born 22 years ago. By age 3 she had memorized several of the stories and absolutely would never part with these books. I now give them as gifts to special friends--such a treasured gift.

These stories are TOO simple for my liking. Classic stories like "Daniel And The Lion's Den" are simplified even further, referring to the lion's den as "the lion place." The story of the birth of Jesus completely skips the Holy Family's journey to Bethlehem and being directed to the inn's stable. "Sin" is renamed "badness" and the final page assures children that Jesus came to take away their "badness" too -- but the intellectual age this is written for are unlikely to have reached the "age of reason," in which they are even capable of sin. (To top it off, as a parent, I really don't like "badness" as a synonym for "sin." To me, "badness" implies a negative characteristic that the child possesses, rather than a incorrect action that the child chose to do.) I gave it two stars, rather than one, because I do like the quality of the binding.I am returning this book.

I just totally love these Read Aloud Bible Story Books from Ella Lindvall. My 19 mo. old daughter loves them too...she has TONS of books and usually goes out of her way to "read" one of these books or bring one of them to me to be read. The stories are excellent and capture the meaning in such a simple and beautiful way. However, Vol. 3 is my personal VERY favorite...the creation story, Noah's story and Daniel all come to life in this book and they have touched my heart. Thank you Ella Lindvall for great books that direct little minds to God.

My 2 year old grandchild loves the books in this series so bought this one to have in our church crèche.

Written for small children, roughly 3-6, the pictures are big, colourful, clear and attractive. This makes the book enjoyable for older children as well, despite the simplicity of the text.

I wish I had gotten this one sooner. Our boys adore the stories and this one is by far the best, I think. And, it arrived much sooner than we expected so that was great too!De lejos el mejor de la colección. Mis hijos aman Ojalá lo hubiese comprado antes. Y me llegó antes de lo que esperaba.

Beautiful ilustrations, great book to read aloud to toddlers and young kids. The words are simples and the ilustrations are beautiful. At the end of every story there's a question to review it with the child so they remember those important concepts
