Very impressed.
I am a little bit of a snob when it comes to flashlights. Generally speaking I carry Surefire lights. I am in a line of work where my equipment is essential to my being able to go home at the end of the day. This light, however, looked interesting and I decided to try it out. It seems to be well build and pretty intuitive to use. I like the lockout feature. I carry the light as a backup light in my pocket at work and being able to locking out means that I don't really worry about it turning on in my pocket if my gear or something bumps the button. The different light levels are good. I like it has a strobe feature. The display is very helpful, showing the light level and battery level. I would consider buying it again or maybe a similar model.

A Game-Changer for Everyday Carry Flashlights!
I recently purchased the Nitecore EDC23 (This is my second flashlight from Nitecore) and I am beyond impressed! This ultra-slim, 2500-lumen powerhouse has completely changed my perception of what an everyday carry flashlight can do. Key Highlights: 1. Blinding Brightness: At 2500 lumens, this flashlight cuts through darkness like a hot knife through butter. Whether you’re exploring the outdoors, walking your dog at night, or dealing with a power outage, this light ensures no corner is left unlit. 2. Ultra-Slim Design: It’s incredibly sleek and compact. It fits comfortably in my pocket without any bulk, making it perfect for everyday carry. 3. USB-C Rechargeable: The convenience of USB-C charging cannot be overstated. No more fumbling with proprietary cables; just plug it into any charger and you’re good to go. The charging speed is fantastic, too! 4. Durability: This flashlight feels rock-solid. It’s made from high-quality materials that give it a rugged, premium feel. I’ve already dropped it a couple of times, and it still works flawlessly. 5. User-Friendly Interface: The intuitive controls make it easy to switch between brightness levels. The settings are versatile, making it suitable for anything from low-light reading to high-power outdoor use. Verdict: The Nitecore EDC23 is worth every penny! It combines incredible brightness, portability, and modern features into one perfect package. Whether you’re a flashlight enthusiast or just need a reliable light source, this one is an absolute must-have.

Great EDC flashlight
I was looking for a small EDC flashlight to attach to my backpack. This flashlight has worked great when needed. It's very easy to turn on and cycle through brightness levels. It also feel pretty solid for a flashlight that is so small. My only concern is the non user replaceable battery. For the cost and my needs the pros outweigh the one potential con.

Button stops working after a few weeks of using, horrible/ rude customer service worker - Dave
The light was great at first and the only complaint i have was the clip riding too high in my pocket. Fast forward not even a month and the button stopped working. When you half press to go through the different lumens it wouldn’t work and a full press to turn it off would cause it to do whacky things like cycle through the lumens or turn off. I contacted nitecore and got a replacement sent and it did the same thing. They offered to “upgrade me” to the edc25 which i just wanted to replace what i have and understand why their product kept failing me. So i called customer service and a person named Dave gave me a huge attitude for absolutely no reason at all. I was asking if its a know issue and if there’s a fix to this problem. It’s an $80 light, these types of things shouldn’t be happening to such an expensive product. Basically was of no help what so ever and was extremely rude. All i wanted to know is if it was even worth getting the replacement if the same problem is going to keep happening. Luckily amazon was cool enough to refund me the cost and accepted the return outside the window of time. Basic review and if your looking to buy this light dont.. i bought in January and its now may. It doesn’t last, anyone who left reviews probably left it right after buying it. This light would be awesome if it worked correctly but after dealing with their rude customer service and having 2 lights fail on me I wouldn’t support this company even if they fix their problem…

An OK EDC offering from Nitecore with caveats
Overall impressions: an innovative take at the current square/rectangular light trend. Good battery life, OK outputs(see caveats), less than ideal for me UI and switching. Pocket clip leaves things to be desired. Overall a great form factor but it’s UI, blatant lies regarding output and silly switch design, makes this a pass unless you’re just a huge Nitecore fan, at least for me. For more details, read on: Brightness/light levels: Mode spacing is acceptable but the claimed max output is a bit of a misnomer as it’s a very temporary turbo and the light gets very hot. This has become a common trend of light manufacturers. They have dramatically inflated output claims based on short duration turbos that output far too much heat. Also missing is a true moonlight mode. I’ve come to really appreciate single lumen or similar modes. Great for nightstands/checking on kids without waking anyone. Runtimes: Ran for the workweek and charged once in the middle. The display is pretty slick and appears relatively accurate in my use case. Switches/UI: Not a fan of the buttons at all. I prefer lights able to tails and, raised buttons really prevent this, offset buttons doubly so. The mode spacing is fine. The turbo button and strobe are useless functions for me. They don’t belong in this light. Additionally, the turbo/strobe button would be more useful if one could select either strobe or turbo when that button is mashed and held. Under stress the likelihood of being able to meter your press for constant on turbo is near impossible. In general strobe functions are a selling point but no more effective at dazzling a potential BG than a blast of white light with the right candela. Leave the strobe modes out. Pocket Clip: functional, grabs fine but significantly too long. It makes sliding the light into most pockets tricky at best. The lanyard loop location is pointless and overall the clip rides fairly high resulting in a good amount of the light hanging out of the pocket. This mat be an issue for some. Form Factor/Display: Great pocketable shape/size and the display is slick. Being able to select output before powering on the light is very cool. A neat squared light offering from Nitecore, but without some significant overhaul to the UI and removal of the silly overstated turbo and strobe modes, likely the last square light from them I’ll own.

Quality EDC made of quality materials at a good price
I have never used any nitecore products until recently since their products started appearing on my feed. I bought this flashlight as my EDC and I was not disappointed in the quality, fit and finish of the flashlight. The build is of excellent quality and it does not feel cheap like others I have used. The flashlight is easy to use. It's bright on the highest setting of 2500 lumens with a good throw and it is also very useful on the lowest setting when brightness isn't required. The buttons on the top of the flashlight function and seem like they will last a long time even if they go through some beating and rough usage. I work as an armed transit driver and this is perfect for me in all aspects. The screen is a nice touch because I am able to see what setting I am in and how much battery I have left. I love that this is a USB C type charging device. I think what really sold me on it was the fact that it has a safety switch. I have used other flashlights that tend to turn on in the pocket and burn my thighs. Since owning this product, I have not had it once turn on accidentally in my pockets. The clip on it doesn't feel cheap either. Overall the flashlight is of good quality and materials, and the functionality make is easy to use even for the novice user diving into the world of EDC flashlights.

Compact, Reliable, and Perfect for Everyday Carry
I chose the Nitecore EDC23 as my everyday carry flashlight, and I’m really glad I went with it instead of the EDC29. Its compact size makes it much easier to keep in my pocket, which is a major plus for daily use. The battery life has been solid so far. After a couple of weeks, I still haven’t needed to charge it. It’s convenient and reliable. As others have mentioned, the flashlight does stick out of your pocket a bit, which can make reaching for other items a little tricky. However, it’s not a deal-breaker for me. If it becomes a bother, there are aftermarket clips available that allow the flashlight to sit lower in your pocket. I haven’t felt the need to buy one yet. I did read the one-star "burned my pants" review, and honestly, it just made me want the light more, lol! That said, there have been a couple of occasions where I was sure I locked the light, only to find it unlocked later. I’m not entirely sure how it’s happening, but I suspect I might be accidentally unlocking it when I reach into my pocket for other items. I could see how this might become an issue for some users, so it’s worth keeping in mind. Overall, I’m very happy with the Nitecore EDC23! It’s practical, well-designed, and performs beautifully. If something ever happened to this one, I wouldn’t hesitate to get another. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable everyday carry flashlight.

My new favorite
You may ask yourself, do I really need a $60 flashlight? Well the answer is yes. It will be the last flashlight you ever buy. It is blindingly bright if you want it to be or just a faint dim if needed as well. It’s easy to pocket, holds charge a lonnnng time and has a freaking video screen. I personally collect small high end flashlights and this is without a doubt my favorite now.
