Excited!!!
I have been waiting for third revision of the Jerusalem Bible. The first edition of the JB was a piece of art. The NJB not so much. So far I am thrilled with this revision. The cover is cool, the print small but readable with my reading glasses.

Must Have for Scripture Lovers
A Must Have for scripture lovers. The care and effort that went into making this publication available is truly remarkable. Enjoy this wonderful work that serves as one of the very best reference bibles we have.

Yellow highlighters don't bleed through the thick paper.
The Psalms are the 2010 Revised Grail Psalms. I like this as my plan is to use the New Testament and Psalm to supplement the Liturgy of the Hours app that I pray alone. To get a feel for the crowded feeling of the type. Note that compared to the Jerusalem Bible the typefaces are similar, but the Robert Alter Writings font is much more relaxed. The Revised Grail Psalms are from 2010. Compare Psalm 95 to the translation in the 1966 Jerusalem Bible adn compare it to Robert Alter's 2004 translation.

In the Jerusalem Bible family.
I have enjoyed the Jerusalem Bible family of translations ever since they first came out. I appreciate the effort to present a good and worthy translation. In this most recent edition I have enjoyed the better quality paper of the new testament and psalms edition. The full edition uses a thinner kind of paper. I am not conversant in the biblical languages, so cannot render any comparisons or opinion on the translation itself. So far I have enjoyed it for the most part. What I do not enjoy is the truncated and incomplete set of notes and cross references. They are almost like a Readers Digest condensed version. It limits the value of the effort. Thank goodness the notes and references share some of the organization of the family of Jerusalem Bible translation, as it is one of the most useful ways to share connections and information as the older versions did without causing a reader to bounce around tracing notes and references. It will be interesting to see how the Image/Doubleday edition handles the DLT crossover as it is brought to America. For those bothered by inclusive translation issues CTS (Catholic Truth Society) has a slightly updated edition that does not engage the inclusive language effort, but does comply with the effort to respect others sensibilities regarding the use of Yahweh in the OT.

Good Bible New Testament Only
I guess I didn’t pay attention that this is only the New Testament. Love my new bible.

Very good
Very detailed footnotes. Would prefer more, but still very educational.

The typeface is too small. The footnotes are not as abundant as I'd like. But I've loved the Jerusalem Bible for years and this is its new incarnation. If you're not hooked on the series (like I am), I'd wait for the kindle full bible version coming next year.

A new generation translation with The Revised Grail Psalms text and introductions
I have read the NJB for many years, and the notes are really good. However the RNJB does miss out on the number of notes in this new testament. The translation is much simpler and I think the new generation will like it more. After a few weeks of reading I have started liking this bible and read it daily. The introduction for each psalm is good and set's a stage for what you can expect and pray them for yourself, the notes are also helpful. I could find only this bible has The Revised Grail Psalms of 2010 and again as it's new and I have started to like it slowly. The pages are quite thick and bright white and you could write on it if you want to (I don't like to write on my bibles). The font size could have been a little bigger by 1pt or 2pt as there is quite a lot of empty space on the pages. I liked the layout of the chapters and psalms grouping, text from old testament are in italics or separate sections which is nice.

Its the RNJB.
Whilst I prefer the text of the 'Jerusalem Bible' to the 'New JB' and this edition, it's the RNJB. What more can I say??

Good indeed..
I have read the whole bible (except Psalms) of this translation including notes and it is v good.. Only v few areas I felt like its not that smooth flowing.. But I felt like this is more faithful to Greek than RSV-2CE. Notes are less but for the important sections notes are present.. It is glued binding, mine got split at the center.. Paper is so thick and you can use any kind of marker..Romans 2:23 -RSV-2CE -You who abhor idols, do you rob temples?RNJB -You detest idols, but you desecrate holy things?
