RSV Personal Size Bible with Cross References, Black Leathersoft, (Sovereign Collection)

I really like this bible - the paper and font are really nice, but why does it have floppy, thin, paperback style covers? It should be a hardback book, with thick card covers. I presume it's a cost saving measure.
