great way to get kids in to legos
my son is old enough to play with legos but not really quite there when It comes to following instructions. so I just got them 1200 legos for them to play around with and build whatever it is that they need

A good assortment of bricks
This set has a lot of bright colorful Lego-like bricks. You get a variety of flats and bricks, in a number of sizes. There are even some odd shaped and ujusual pieces, making this a great starter set for a young beginning builder, and a good way to afford a large amount of backup bricks for the kit builder. They arrive bagged, sorted mostly by type and size of brick. I would have preferred that they were also sorted by color, so you could sure them right away in an organizer container by size, shape, and color without having to take the time to go through every bag and sort one at a time. For a youngster though who never bothers with sorting anyway, they're great as they are.The bricks are solid and equal to the name brand art a cheaper price.

Very Strong, Tight Fit, & Work seamlessly with Name Brand
I attached some photos for reference. The first is the bags with the pieces sorted by size and type, which gives you a good idea for what you are getting. The 2nd is a house I made. The 3rd is a tree and car my 13yo son made.Ok, first off- I love the durability! I put them all in the box and gave it a bunch of heavy shakes and tumbles, opened it back up and there were no little flecks of plastic as corners broke off. This means they are using the same sort of high-quality plastic as the name brand. There was a great assortment of pieces, including a good number of longer bricks. There weren't tons of half-height bricks though, and my son and I found ourselves wishing there were more of those. The doors and windows were fun, and the axles and wheels worked really well too. The tree, stair, and other specialty pieces are a little limiting, but they are in a vast minority compared to the more multi-purpose blocks, which makes for a great ratio. The pieces hold together very tightly, so they can be a bit hard to break apart (I'd say an identical amount of pressure required as the name brand). The good news is it means your creations don't break apart too easily. The box is ok for storing the bricks in, but it would be nice if they would make a nicer plastic box or chest to store them in. Not a deal breaker or anything, but it would have been really cool.If you are wondering, they are just as stabby as LEGO, so don't leave them on the floor to step on :PAdditionally, you can distinguish them from the bricks in your name-brand collection, as they lack the logo and they have a little dent in 1 pip on top of each brick.I really only have 1 major critique, which is the Manual. To put it politely: it sucked. It's good quality paper, and it looks very similar to the name brand, and the instructions themselves are ok, but it's instructions for how to make some really crappy things. My son and I looked through it and there was only 1 interesting thing they'd included. They also didn't include any info on how to make the tree or car, despite those being the most unique bricks in the collection.I wouldn't dock a star for the manual, but I just wanted to call out that part, as it was really sucky. But the main take-away is that they are very durable, and they fit perfectly with your name brand collection.
