Not for bathrooms
It’s works and look good. Not for bathroom doors though.

3/4 worked as expected, mechanical failure on the 4th
3/4 worked. With little effort to install. However the 4th one, the latch would get jammed inside the mechanism (you turn the knob to pull the latch back, and it would not return). I popped out the mechanism , opened it up with the one screw. Learned and repositioned all the springs and set everything back up. Same thing happened, door latch would spring back normal when knob turned (for maybe 10 turns, then it broke and stuck in the mechanism. ) not great quality overall, but sets one through 3 worked as expected. Considering the cost, I'm on the fence to buy another to replace the broken one. But at this rate, I'll likely swap out the doors entirely for new ones with updated handles and doors. Edit: bumped up to 4 stars. The other door handles work as intended. I was finally able to rebuild one of them and get it operating normally.

Will sometimes get stuck in the open position
These look great and generally work without issue. I've had two suddenly have an issue with the latch getting stuck in the open position and the only way to fix it is to remove the entire mechanism, open it and reset the latch however, once it starts it happens nearly every time you use the door knob. I've replaced two now in about a year. Seems to be hot and miss as some have never had an issue.

These work really well in old doors and you can reverse the latch direction!
I wanted to write a review to let people know that you can reverse the direction of the latch. I have installed a few of these, and honestly they work better than some of the other much more expensive ones that I've tried from antique hardware specialty shops. But I was installing some the other day and we realized that the latches were facing the wrong direction for some of the doors (due to which way they swing - you want them to be able to easily latch when you close the door, w/out having to turn the knob). I searched for a while trying to find latches that faced the other way, and no one seems to make them. Then I saw someone here say you can open them up and switch it yourself. It was easy and took me only a couple minutes each. You just unscrew that one screw on the mortise lock, and CAREFULLY pry off that top piece of metal to open it up. Everything in there is spring-loaded. The first one I did pretty easily and the second one a spring sprung and everything inside went flying. Fortunately I had already taken this picture and used it for reference to put everything back in place. They work great now. Definitely recommend these!

I should have taken the advice of others who got locked out
I shouldn't have trusted something like a door latch mechanism to $25 hardware (I think it may have been $35 or so when I got it... can't remember). Anyway, despite white lithium greasing the internals on install, and loctiting the screw that holds the assembly together, and being gentle to the point where I pre-retract the latch bolt whenever practical when closing the door, I did expect more than two years' worth of life. The knob and spindle turn fine, but I think either the spring broke, or the detent at one end of it broke. I'll have to see once I get it apart. It's probably wise to heed the mountain of similar negative reviews for this product, both on here and where posted on the big box store sites. You're way too likely to be faced with being on one side of the door with no way through at some point. If that's not a big deal for you, then this is a steal at $25. If it is a big deal for you, run far, far away from this. EDIT: Now here we are, a month later, and the other one has broken. The deadbolt is now loose from the rest of the internal assembly, meaning it can slide into the striker and the key won't turn it back out. Luckily, I was able to catch it before it ended up being a problem. The only good things about these is that they were cheap, but even then they were too expensive for what you end up dealing with. I'd only recommend these to people I despise.

Just right!
This door knob with lock matched exactly the one I had which was at least 60 years old, so there wasn't much to do except take the old one out and install this one. The only problem I had was that the mechanism was a bit stiff, but after a little lubrication it now works perfectly. Very happy with my purchase and also with the supplier's fast despatch; thankyou.

Perfect!
Installed easily in a door with a similar style of handle. Looks great, functions great. Was installed on a bathroom door and the clients were more than impressed with it and it's quality. Not as solid as an old unit, but definitely a suitable replacement.

Parfait !
