Does absolutely nothing to scare birds away
I have them strung across my yard swing frame in an attempt to keep the blasted birds from ruining the seat every single day. Since the backs are plain white, if the wind isn't blowing there's nothing to see. They should at least have been silvered to reflect light. I even handpainted ugly eyeballs on the backs, they apparently aren't scary either. perhaps if they were on a swivel?? but the big flat circles just keep them mainly in one direction.

Work Great When There's Enough Wind to Move Them
I hung these five items on my patio because we had birds trying to build nests there. As long as there was a strong breeze, the birds seemed to stay away for a while. However, when there was no breeze or just a minor breeze, the birds returned. These hanging devices have the design on only one side; the other side is white. I decided to put two items back-to-back on their hanging hooks so regardless of which way they were hanging, a bright design would always be facing outward. Since there are only five items in this package, I could only do two sets back-to-back. As it turned out, the two sets worked well to keep the birds away.If these came with the bright design printed on both sides of each device, I'd rate it 5 stars.

Very effective but you need to add swivel barrels
I hung these bird deterrents on my cat fence to prevent Suicidal birds from coming inside. They work so well that I ordered two more packages. I only gave a rating of four because the two new packages did not have swivel barrels. That’s the little device that keeps the device spinning freely. I bought a package of swivel barrels from the Walmart fishing section for $1.74 and added them. In the past I used the scare tape. That also works well, but the scare tape rips easily in the wind.

They really work
Tried several things that did not work to prevent cliff swallows from building nest on my porch, these worked immediately and were easy to install. Money well spent.

RUSTing but also work.
I got these over the summer for my boat in salt water. These actually work to keep the gulls off but needed to build something to hang them on. The rings they come with rust and fall open in no time with wind. They need wind to work well. I recommend getting these and getting a stainless ring of some sort. I’m ordering stainless key rings that have screw ends which should work.

Easy to install evrythng is in pack except ladder if placed at the height of the areas they damaged
I’ve had no woodpecker problems since I put these up along with a few other deterrents. Like my said filled Hawk that sits on a tree stump in my yard. Also a flying light weight hawk hanging from a metal 6ft plant holder at the other side of the house. No more jack hammer wake up at 530am/6am. I’m retired and if I want to sleep in (which I rarely do) I’m not startled awake. And no cedar shake siding damage 👍👍👍

Only printed on one side - might be better if on both
Much smaller than the similar balloons/beach balls. Only printed on one side - might be better if on both.

I don't think this works
I used this in combination with Premium Quality Bird Deterrent Reflective Scare Tape 350 ft Long - Pest Control Dual-sided Repellent Tape For Pigeons, Grackles, Woodpeckers, Geese, Herons, Blackbirds & More - Sturdy & Ultra Strong , which, by the way, really works! Not sure these work at all. Pattern on one side. Mostly faces the wrong way.
