I had a little difficulty learning until I had my teenage grandson come over and he easily figured it out and taught me how to use it. It never missed a word, i especially like that I can translate into any language and it frees up so much of my time. The recording quality is excellent, as is the battery life and I can simply attach it to my phone to recharge. It’s about the size of a credit card and I have heard all the hype about AI now i understand why it’s our future. This is worth every penny.

Amazing Product! The overall design and how small the item is, is really good compared to bigger ones. No bigger than your hand this will do anything you wanted to. Easy process connecting to my phone and getting to work and the overall design telling you want to do is so simple. I like little tech like this and honestly this product was perfect for me and got the job done. Highly recommend!

I have mixed feelings for this recorder.Recording is very easy to do - you just hit the onboard record button or connect it to your phone to start recording.You can then transcribe the audio recording and summarize it in a variety of ways. This can be done without a subscription, which is unique to this product.The App is terribly confusing with almost no support. I'm on Android (Google Pixel) and it requires an APK to install (vs installing from the Play store). Once installed you have an interface that allows you to connect the recording to the phone and choose what you want it to do. Recording and then translating is free, and is semi-accurate. It wasn't perfect, but was pretty good. Translation is a bit slow, but can be done in the background. The app has crashed on me a few times. The recording is stored on the CHIME, so no information was lost - it just re-transfered.Advanced features, like real-time transcribing, cost minutes. There is no documentation to explain what costs minutes. The website has no clear information on these features and limitations.Internet connection is required to transcribe (either in real-time or afterwards).The Chime unit appears to primarily be a battery and microphone. I'm not fully sure on what the unit actually does besides host the local recordings (which are then transferred to the phone for transcription). When recording, it is done via the Chime unit, not the phone. There is not an option for using an external microphone or switching sources.The recording quality isn't that great (lots of plosives, hisses, white noise, etc). It works fine for translation, but isn't a clear signal.The major selling factor is the no-subscriptions translation service and the long battery life/recordings.

This is a very intriguing product. It was clearly made by someone very passionate about implementing AI in a handheld, end-node fashion. Here are the pros:- It has a very sophisticated and clear summarization function- The live translation function works well at least with the Mandarin Chinese I tested- The app interface is clear and easy to use- doubles as a magsafe battery charger- many different summarization and paraphrasing functions and situations- 64 GB of onboard storageSome cons- The fancier functions are for additional fees- The speech-to-text isn't as accurate as iPhone's speech-to-text. I would rather use my iPhone for dictation and recording, though I haven't tried this for meetings and multi-person speakers yet. That's going to be interesting.- Having this outboard microphone seems a bit redundant, and I can't tell why it's a separate device... is it doing its computations locally with software and a computer inside the device itself? is the device pack just a battery with local storage?- It has options for SOAP notes (which are a kind of clinical note), but there isn't much information on this thing's privacy...Overall, I think if you have a lot of lectures, meetings, interviews, and one-on-one sessions to record and analyze, this may be worth buying. It basically auto transcribes with time stamps the audio, which is a pretty useful function to have on demand. I'm not sure whether I'm going to be able to get the most out of it, especially at the free tier, but this thing has potential. I'm just not sure exactly what that potential can yield lol.

I have some long dictation needs, and for English speech to text this works great, and very convenient with the connection to the phone and app, so it fully meets my needs; the mag connection means it's always with me for dictating ideas and expanding existing notes. I have difficulty figuring out the translation feature, and there appears to be a subscription required for the higher level functions, it will be a steep learning curve to get that to work, still, 5 stars because it fully meets my fundamental dictation needs. I doubt that I could ever use any translation function on the fly when traveling, so even if I can not figure it out, no big deal specific to my needs.
