Work but not easy to install
I like the look and they work good, but I have to take the vent holders out to install the covers.

Just what I needed
The original fell off and I was smelling odors from the crawl space. Once I installed this the odors stopped

INSTANTLY INSTALLED
I am a senior, arthritis in thumbs. The package came, I read the instructions. Went outside to try vent #1. I brought out pliers but didn't need them. 90 seconds later I was back inside getting the cover for vent #2. That one was installed in less than 60 seconds... BTW they were purchased after hearing the temps will be 11 degrees Christmas Eve, they arrived promptly, just in time for me. ☺ This product ROCKS

Keeps the crawl space warmer
We had a bad cold spell in Kentucky. I was lucky my pipes did not freeze but knew many people that had problems. Saw these on the market - They fit perfect and very easy to attach. I recommend anybody with crawl space vents to order them.

Incompatible with our Vent Type
The vent covers were the wrong type for our vents. Please see the photo of one of our vents that I've posted. In the middle of our vents is an adjustment screw. This screw would be directly behind the aluminum vent spring hook in the cover. Result: The hook has nowhere to connect. For others who might think they have a similar problem: The top of our vents bears a legend from the foundry that made them some 70 years ago. The legend says "S & S Mfg. Co. Col. Ohio." I believe that "Col. Ohio" is an abbreviation for the city Columbus. If you have a similar vent from this company, the cover won't fit.I considered drilling mounting holes for the vent covers. I thought that an aluminum cover and anodized aluminum vent should allow mounting holes for machine or self-tapping sheet metal screws. Yet since the vent covers are a bit short of 16 inches, there is very little room for mounting holes. Also, the chuck of my drill would jam between the brickwork and the vent well. Without a drill extension that I don't have, a straight hole would be unlikely. The builder cemented the tops and bottoms of each vent in place. For this reason, the vent covers just barely fit on the vents. I don't have much room to drill top and bottom mounting holes. Then what about gluing the covers down with construction-grade caulk? Maybe that would work, but the surface of the anodized vents is gritty. The caulk might not stick.A friend suggested jury-rigging a bracket behind the vent cover. Yet I don't like haywire solutions for my home. This cover must function on a dependable and permanent basis. Had some effective method of fastening the vents occurred to me, I might have kept the covers. Yet they are as thin as license plates, or even tin cans. I'm not confident that they'll deter rodents and insects. For these reasons, I had to return the vent covers. Thanks for standing behind this product and accepting my return.
