The bowls are great quality, but poorly packed and one small bowl was shattered in the shrink wrap.I should have heeded another review warning about a shattered bowl.I won’t be returning The entire set for a refund, as I need them now for baking. Taking a loss.

After using all sorts of kitchen odds and ends, e.g. deli containers, to set up my mis en place, I was motivated to finally buy a set of these bowls after watching countless hours of shows on the Food Network. The Duralex bowls are fantastic for when you have to line up all your ingredients before beginning the cooking (which is what good cooks do, yes?). They are sturdy, dishwasher safe, and by having two different sizes, I can use them almost any element of food prep. I can't believe I waited so long to get these. The best part of these bowls is that, unlike the plastic or silicon ones I have used in the past, they do not retain odors, so they are ideal for minced garlic, ginger, herbs, soy sauce...just about anything. Highly recommended!

I love this set. I bake a lot and have started to dabble in breadmaking. I got so tired of rounding up odd pieces of bowls and plastic containers to do mise en place. These two sizes are perfect. Stable when stacked and take up very little space in cupboard. They arrived in perfect shape, stacked and very tightly shrink-wrapped. Not a chip, no breakage. Am definitely buying more Duralex. Already ordered the 1 oz. bowls for spices and seasoning portions. I highly recommend this product.

I used to think only the hosts of cooking shows, who had other people to wash their dishes (!), would bother with mise en place. But lately I have been trying this technique with great success. I find that I really like measuring out all the ingredients ahead of time and getting everything ready to go before diving into baking projects. As I do this, I think about the recipe, visualize the steps, make sure I have everything I need, and get centered. It's very orderly and I like that a lot. I make fewer mistakes and recipes turn out perfectly. These bowls are wonderful for mise en place. They are the perfect sizes, and I really like that there are six of each. And because they are so durable and can go in the dishwasher, I don't hesitate to use as many of them as I need for any given recipe. So handy you will be glad you have them!

I didn't know I needed these bowls until I spent the day doing a Food Network marathon and watching Ina, Valerie, and Giada. These bowls are fantastic. They help organize the ingredients so you don't forget something (which I have done on occasion). Laying everything out before you start cooking is actually a time saver and helps taking the stress out of cooking and making it more fun. These bowls are durable and I absolutely love that they are made in La France. These are a great investment. Purchased several different sets and love them all. Bon Appétit!

You watch a cooking show and people always have all the ingredients pre-measured in little bowls. I wanted to do that, and these do that job well. The two sizes accommodate just about everything. It's so much nicer to do all the measuring up front and then just be able to do all the cooking at once without stopping to measure some tablespoons of sugar.The one thing that nobody tells you is that when you use a bunch of prep bowls you create a bunch more dishes you have to clean. Thankfully I put these in the top rack of the dishwasher, and haven't had a problem.

I'm only giving these three stars because they arrived with a several very thin, very dangerous glass slivers. While the bowls seemed to be packaged fairly well, I guess they weren't. I noticed something on the counter as I unwrapped them and it was a one inch sliver of glass. I threw it away and then looked harder at the counter and noticed two or three very small, thin (1/4") slivers of glass. They were very difficult to see on the white counter tile and if I had been preparing food, there was a good chance they could have been stuck or incorporated into the food. Scary. However, the bowls themselves seem to be fine. There are a few little places where the glass came off but I sanded them smooth. Still, the packaging needs to be much better on this sort of thing.

A center bowl in the set of 6 arrived shattered. Returning the entire set and paying $5 more (price went up) for a replacement set made no sense. So we disposed of the broken one, and kept the 5 good ones. Hopefully others will see this post to raise awareness about paying for 6 when only 5 are available. Consider all options before living with the an unacceptable, incomplete set/
